Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.

TEGNA is looking for a Project Manager, Sponsorships to own the operational backbone of our network-wide sponsorship business. You’ll work with B2B Integrated Marketing leadership, sales leadership, and Commercial Production Managers (CPMs) across our stations and markets to build sponsorship sales materials, coordinate fulfillment on larger sponsorships, and keep the process organized, current, and continuously improving.

This is a highly cross-functional role. You’ll be the connection point between sales, creative, production, and station teams, making sure the right packages are in market, the right people have the right information, and every commitment is delivered.

Responsibilities:

  • Sponsorship Packages & Sales Materials
  • Partner with marketing and sales leadership to build and refine sponsorship packages, including names, tiers, and deliverables
  • Station & CPM Coordination
  • Serve as the coordination point between stations and CPMs on cross-market and multi-deliverable sponsorships
  • Define and organize scope, timelines, and deliverable requirements, and communicate them clearly to the relevant CPMs and station teams
  • Track and route the deliverables needed to fulfill larger sponsorship commitments, and flag risks or gaps early
  • Execute on sponsorship elements as needed
  • Process & Governance
  • Maintain a clear view of which sponsorship packages are active versus retired, and flag any materials or proposals that reference a retired package
  • Support sponsorship reviews by capturing notes and action items, and archive completed packages in Box
  • Coordinate with tech operations and design on process improvements
  • Keep process documentation current, track trends across sponsorships, and recommend improvements to streamline the workflow
  • Manage multiple sponsorships simultaneously across different stages, from package build through fulfillment

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in project management, broadcast or media operations, sales support, or marketing operations
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across sales, creative, and production teams
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, with the ability to produce polished, sales-ready materials
  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com (or similar), document management platforms such as Box, and production tools like Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple sponsorships at once
  • Comfort working independently in a remote/hybrid environment
  • Preferred
  • Experience in local broadcast, television, or digital media
  • Familiarity with sponsorship sales, packaging, or fulfillment workflows
  • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple markets

What Success Looks Like

  • Sales teams always have current, accurate, easy-to-find sponsorship materials
  • No retired packages appearing in active proposals
  • Larger sponsorships delivered on time, with stations and CPMs clear on scope and responsibilities
