Role Description The Project Officer is a full-time role based in Brisbane City, QLD, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. This role supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects that enhance public sector performance, governance, and workforce capability. Day-to-day activities include assisting with project planning and documentation, monitoring timelines and milestones, preparing reports and briefings, and coordinating stakeholder engagement across government agencies. The Project Officer contributes to research and analysis, supports risk and issue management, and helps maintain accurate project records and reporting frameworks. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues to improve processes, ensure compliance with relevant policies, and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and outcomes-focused team culture.

Experience

  • Demonstrated project support skills, including planning, scheduling, tracking progress, and preparing project documentation.
  • Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to gather information, interpret data, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, briefings, and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and agencies.
  • Sound organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
