Want to help shape the future of sustainable travel in Norfolk?

We're looking for a Project Officer to join our Sustainable Transport Team and support the delivery of projects that make sustainable travel easier, safer and more accessible across the county.

You will enjoy a varied role, dealing with partners and stakeholders from around Norfolk and beyond, ranging from transport operators to schools and businesses. You can expect to get involved in a wide range of projects, ranging from working on funding bids to help attract funding for walking, wheeling, cycling and public transport, to working with schools on how they plan for getting students to school safely, and working with partners to tackle air quality.

The role includes project planning, including financial management, procurement support, stakeholder engagement and reporting.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Project management experience or transferable skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach
  • An interest in sustainable transport, active travel or public sector project delivery

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects that support healthier communities, more accessible and sustainable transport, and deliver environmental improvements and economic growth across Norfolk.

These are some benefits you can enjoy by working for Norfolk County Council:

We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people. Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job description and person specification to help you demonstrate how you meet the criteria. You can also find information on our Terms and Conditions here.
