Project Planner – Capital Projects

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to support major capital projects across Lonza’s global facilities and infrastructure portfolio.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, managing and reporting project plans and schedules throughout the project lifecycle - from design through commissioning and start-up.

You will work closely with project teams to ensure schedules are accurate, reliable and provide clear visibility of project progress, risks and potential delays.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules
• Prepare baseline schedules and schedule-basis documentation
• Analyse critical path and near-critical activities and assess their impact on project delivery
• Monitor schedule deviations, variances and trends and support corrective actions
• Prepare schedule progress reports, trend charts and schedule analysis
• Maintain records of scope changes, trends and variances affecting schedule performance
• Ensure project scheduling data is accurate, credible and reliable
• Work closely with project teams to incorporate timely and accurate schedule information
• Facilitate project scheduling meetings and interactive planning sessions
• Support resource loading activities

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of experience in project planning for large capital projects
• Experience planning projects valued at > CHF 20 million
• Experience managing schedules from design through commissioning/start-up
• Previous experience working within an EPCM environment is essential
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex project data
• Excellent command of English
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in Engineering, Science or Business Management
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team

Nice to Have

• Experience with large-scale projects valued at > CHF 300 million
• Previous client-side project experience
• Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industries
• German language skills
