Keoghs LLP, one of the UK's leading insurance law firms, is looking for a talented Insurance Lawyer to join its esteemed Property Risks and Coverage Team, with a particular focus on Construction matters.
In this role, you'll work on some of the UK's most significant and complex property damage and insurance coverage disputes, collaborating with experienced colleagues on high-value, often multi-million-pound claims. You'll manage your own caseload while supporting lead lawyers on major matters, regularly involving claims exceeding £1 million.
Beyond case handling, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen client relationships by delivering training sessions, workshops and seminars to insurer clients. You'll also contribute to business development initiatives and prepare and present thought leadership on technical legal issues. Key Responsibilities
When assisting the Lead Lawyer, responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing documents and preparing draft advices to clients
- Crafting bespoke coverage advices
- Supporting all aspects of the litigation process.
- Analyzing issues of coverage, liability, quantum, and strategy
- Conducting thorough investigations.
- Preparing first draft instructions to counsel and experts.
- Performing legal research and document searches.
- Attending client meetings, strategy discussions, and conferences for note-taking and follow-up
- Ensuring compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations.
For cases managed independently:
- Handling all aspects of case management
- Drafting applications and court proceedings
- Engaging in settlement negotiations, roundtable discussions, and ADR
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Solicitor/FILEX with circa four years' PQE
- Previous defendant property insurance litigation experience, ideally with a construction background
- Thorough understanding of disputes and claims handled by the department and our insurer client
- Familiarity with product liability, breach of contract, negligence, property law, and insurance coverage issues

- 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch
- Primary location is London, with additional hours as needed to meet client and court obligations
