Property Surveyor | Approved Housing Body

Location: Dublin City Centre | Hybrid Working

Salary: €68,000 – €75,000 DOE

Contract: Permanent

A newly created opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a growing and ambitious team.

Eos Talent is partnering with an established and growing Approved Housing Body to recruit a Property Surveyor into a newly created position. This is a particularly exciting time to join the organisation. With an experienced and highly regarded leadership team driving significant growth and change, there is a real focus on strengthening technical expertise, improving property standards and developing a progressive, high-performing function.

The role will suit a technically strong Building Surveyor who enjoys investigating building defects, identifying the underlying causes of problems and developing practical solutions.

You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse residential property portfolio, contribute to planned investment decisions and help shape how technical surveying services are delivered.

The Role

You will provide technical building surveying expertise across a residential property portfolio, supporting stock condition assessments, defect investigations, planned investment and remediation programmes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking building condition surveys, technical inspections and building pathology investigations.
  • Identifying and diagnosing residential building defects, including dampness, water ingress, structural movement and ventilation issues.
  • Preparing technical reports, scopes of work and specifications for remedial works.
  • Applying your knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and fire safety requirements.
  • Supporting planned maintenance and investment programmes through technical assessments and recommendations.
  • Inspecting completed works and assessing quality and compliance.
  • Engaging directly with residents to understand reported issues, explain findings and agree practical next steps.
  • Working collaboratively with internal colleagues, contractors and consultants to ensure effective outcomes.

About You

We are interested in speaking with Building Surveyors who have strong technical knowledge of residential construction and building pathology.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a closely related technical discipline, supported by relevant building surveying experience.
  • A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in residential building surveying, technical inspections or defect investigation.
  • Strong knowledge of building pathology and the ability to diagnose defects and recommend appropriate remedial solutions.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications and surveying reports.
  • Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and relevant fire safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently and sensitively with residents.
  • A full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Experience within an Approved Housing Body, local authority or residential building surveying consultancy would be particularly relevant, although previous social housing experience is not essential.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Newly created position within a growing function.
  • Opportunity to work with an experienced and highly regarded leadership team.
  • Genuine scope to influence technical standards, processes and service improvements.
  • Interesting and varied residential surveying work.
  • Hybrid working
  • Salary of €65,000–€75,000 DOE.
  • Long-term career development opportunities.
