About Our Team

At Springline Advisory, we’re building a firm where growth and culture go hand in hand. We partner with entrepreneurial accounting and advisory firms across the country to create something bigger together, while staying grounded in the relationships, values, and local cultures that matter most.

Our teams have the opportunity to do meaningful work, collaborate across markets and specialties, and help shape the future of a fast-growing organization. Backed by Trinity Hunt Partners and recognized as one of Accounting Today’s fastest-growing firms, we’re creating a place where ambitious people can build rewarding, long-term careers.

About the Role

As a Property Tax Analyst on the Specialty Services team, you’ll support real property tax consulting, valuation, appeal, and compliance services for a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. You’ll analyze assessments, develop well-supported valuation positions, prepare and manage appeals, communicate with assessing authorities, and maintain accurate client and property data. This role is designed for an analytical professional who can independently manage assigned work, exercise sound judgment, and grow into broader client and engagement responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze notices of assessment, tax bills, market data, and jurisdictional practices to identify valuation issues, unequal assessments, and appeal opportunities.
  • Develop property-level valuation analyses using the income, sales comparison, and cost approaches, as applicable to the property type and available data.
  • Review leases, rent rolls, operating statements, appraisals, construction cost information, and ownership records to support valuation conclusions.
  • Prepare and timely file appeal, protest, exemption, and related jurisdictional forms in accordance with applicable requirements and deadlines.
  • Build clear, organized, and persuasive appeal packages, including supporting schedules, market evidence, and valuation narratives.
  • Communicate and negotiate professionally with assessors, appraisers, hearing officers, tax boards, and other jurisdictional representatives.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analyses and recommendations that help clients make informed filing, settlement, and escalation decisions.
  • Coordinate with third-party appraisers, attorneys, and other specialists when matters require external support or formal litigation.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records in the property tax database, including values, deadlines, appeal status, hearing results, and client deliverables.
  • Provide timely client updates, status reports, tax projections, and customized portfolio analyses.
  • Monitor assigned engagements and workflows to ensure deadlines, documentation standards, and internal review requirements are met.
  • Research real property tax statutes, assessment practices, market conditions, and valuation issues relevant to client properties.
  • Collaborate with team members and other service lines to provide coordinated, responsive client service.
  • Support client retention and growth by identifying additional service opportunities and contributing to proposals, presentations, and relationship development.
  • Participate in training and professional development to strengthen technical, industry, and consulting skills.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
  • One to three years of relevant experience in real property tax consulting, assessment appeals, commercial real estate valuation, appraisal, brokerage, or financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate valuation concepts, including the income, sales comparison, and cost approaches.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, operating data, rent rolls, leases, and market information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working proficiency in Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional local or out-of-town travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial, industrial, multifamily, retail, hospitality, office, special-purpose, or other income-producing property types.
  • Experience using property tax management software, appraisal databases, assessor systems, CoStar, or similar real estate research tools.
  • Exposure to state and local tax, real estate appraisal, construction cost analysis, or property tax litigation support.
  • Progress toward, or interest in pursuing, relevant professional credentials or licensing.
