Role Description The Public Affairs Director at Comunidade Remuneração e Benefícios Brasil (RB BR) is a part-time, remote position responsible for leading the organization’s external communications and public policy engagement. This role includes developing and executing public affairs strategies, coordinating government and media outreach, and aligning communications with the organization’s mission and priorities. The Public Affairs Director will draft and review key messages, talking points, and press materials, and prepare organizational representatives for public appearances, interviews, and events. Day-to-day activities involve monitoring relevant policy developments, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, preparing briefings for leadership, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure consistent, compliant, and inclusive messaging across all channels.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Government Relations and Governmental Affairs, with the ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with public institutions and policy stakeholders.
  • Strong Public Affairs experience, including development of advocacy strategies and management of stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Media Relations, including managing journalist inquiries and coordinating interviews and public statements.
  • Ability to draft, edit, and distribute clear and accurate Press Releases and other external communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in en_US; Portuguese proficiency is highly beneficial.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and sound judgment in complex policy and communication contexts.
  • Experience working in remote, cross-functional, and diverse teams, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience in public affairs is an asset.
  • Prior experience in compensation, benefits, HR, or related community-focused initiatives in Brazil is a plus.
