About us
auticon is a technology consultancy and social enterprise whose mission is to address the inequalities in employment for neurodivergent adults and provide them with long-term career opportunities. We employ autistic adults as IT and data consultants who deliver high-quality services to our clients. (If you’re not familiar with how IT consultancies operate you can refer to read more on our blog.
What you will do
You will be employed by auticon and will be placed on assignments working directly with our clients, using technology to address their business challenges. The roles, skills and technologies listed above are illustrative examples and are not exhaustive, as client requirements vary between projects.
We're looking for professionals with experience and/or a strong interest in pursuing careers within the Data & DevOps domains. In terms of the SFIA skills framework, which we use at auticon, we are looking for people who can work at Levels 3 and 4.
Some of the roles our consultants fill include:
· Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Data Engineer
· Cybersecurity Analyst, Security Analyst, SOC Analyst
· Security Operations Analyst, Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst
Some of the skills and technologies we typically look for often relate to:
· Software development and programming (e.g. Python, Java)
· Data analysis, reporting, and visualisation (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
· Data engineering and databases (e.g. Python, Databricks, Snowflake)
· Vulnerability assessment and security testing (e.g. Nessus, Qualys)
· Security monitoring and incident response (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk)
· Security tooling (e.g. Microsoft Defender, AWS Security Hub)
Who we’re looking for
To be considered for a role there are essential criteria to be met. You must:
· Provide evidence that you are in the process of obtaining an autism diagnosis OR evidence you already have a diagnosis OR alternative documentation to evidence autism.
· Have the right to work in the UK.
· Demonstrate coding proficiency in at least one of Python, Java or C++.
Professional experience, academic achievements, or a certification such as PCAP would be indicators of proficiency.
· Be able to meet the requirements of the Civil Service Nationality Rules.
· Be able and willing to undergo the vetting required for sensitive roles with public sector clients, and then obtain and maintain a security clearance at a level as may be required (BPSS, SC, or DV).
You can see an overview of the UK government security vetting process on the Cabinet Office YouTube channel. At a minimum you will be required to have been a UK resident for the last five years.
· Be able and willing to commute to and from work in central London/Manchester/Leeds/Newcastle for two or three days per week.
As a responsible employer we are aware of the sensory and emotional impact of long journeys; we consider a reasonable commuting time to be no more than 1.5 hours in each direction.
· Be willing to upskill in artificial intelligence and accept placements into roles in which AI may be used or deployed.
· Accept that arrangements for your upskilling will include the development of skills in technical domains that may be new to you. These new skills will complement those that you already possess. This will enhance your personal profile and also improve auticon’s ability to find engagements for you.
It would be advantageous (but not essential) for you have relevant work experience or something comparable (e.g. a PhD or a completed internship).
What we offer
· A salary of £29,000 to £40,000 per annum (normally at the lower end for candidates with limited work experience, and at the middle region and above for those with relevant work experience or a PhD, for example).
· A contract of permanent employment in a friendly and productive work environment where reasonable adjustments are understood and accommodated.
· Continuous learning and career development with fully-funded training and certifications.
· Valuable autism-tailored benefits such as ongoing assistance from a dedicated Coach who provides practical and emotional support that will help you to thrive in your role. Visit our blog to learn more about the value of the coaching we provide.
· 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
· Private health insurance.
