UnderDefense is looking for a proactive and product-driven Python Developer to join our fast-growing product team and help build a new cybersecurity solution. This is not just a coding role - we’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership, influence decisions, and treat security as a product, not just a service.

You’ll be part of a team developing an intelligent, cloud-native platform for automating security incident response. Our Tech Stack & Requirements:

• Python (asyncio): 3+ years of hands-on commercial experience;

• PostgreSQL, SQLModel / SQLAlchemy, Alembic: 1+ year;

• AWS (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, Cognito): 2+ years, including boto3 / aioboto3;

• FastAPI: 2+ years designing and building REST APIs;

• Testing (pytest, pytest-asyncio): 2+ years writing solid unit and integration tests;

• Docker, docker-compose: 2+ years;

• Event-driven microservices (SQS, NATS): 1+ year designing and building distributed systems;

• LLM / AI stack (LangChain, Langfuse, AWS Bedrock / AgentCore, Strands Agents, LiteLLM, MCP): 1+ year building LLM-based pipelines or agents;

• CI/CD (GitLab CI/GitHub Actions): 1+ year;

• Vector search (Weaviate/Chroma): hands-on experience;

• Observability (Sentry, OpenTelemetry): practical experience;

• English: Intermediate+, with strong communication skills.
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Kubernetes (EKS) and Helm

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or AWS CDK

• Kafka or other high-throughput streaming (Kinesis)

• LLM evaluation and guardrails (Ragas, DeepEval, prompt-injection defense)
  RAG optimization: hybrid search, re-ranking, pgvector

• Background in cybersecurity or SOC tooling (SIEM, EDR, STIX)

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, production-quality Python services

• Write clean, testable code and contribute to a strong TDD culture

• Participate in daily code reviews and agile rituals

• Translate business requirements into architectural solutions and working software

• Ensure high code quality with unit/integration testing

• Collaborate with DevOps to manage scalable cloud infrastructure

• Contribute to architectural decisions and tool selection

• Write and maintain technical documentation
