Python Developer (with Agentic AI Focus)

mühlemann+popp (m+p) is a digital company builder based in Zurich, founded in 2010. We launch and scale web-based companies—some you may know: sobrado.ch, bontique.ch, evenito.com, realmatch360.ch.
Our team of ~50 people works out of Zurich, Warsaw, and remotely across Europe. We love pragmatic engineering, clean architecture, and a healthy dose of product thinking. We don't just use AI in our products; we use it to redefine how we write code.

Why this role matters
We are looking for a Python Developer who is an early adopter of modern development workflows. You’ll architect high-performance backends while using Agentic AI tools (Cursor or Claude Code) to accelerate delivery.
We aren't looking for "prompt engineers" who copy-paste—we need seasoned developers who treat AI as a high-speed assistant, maintaining full ownership and critical oversight of the final code quality.
You’ll work on diverse projects in Real Estate and Healthcare, moving fast within a modern stack. While your core focus is Python, we value versatility—if you can jump into a React frontend or a legacy C# service when needed, you’ll fit right in.

What You'll Do

• Architect & Develop: Design and maintain high-performance backends using Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Modern Workflow: Use Cursor/Claude Code to streamline boilerplate and refactoring, while critically auditing all outputs for security and maintainability.
• AI Integration: Build and optimize RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM integrations.
• Cross-Stack Collaboration: Support and integrate with frontend teams (React/Next.js) and occasionally interface with PHP or C# microservices.
• Modern DevOps: Utilize Docker for containerization and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Clean Code: Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews, ensuring our "pragmatic engineering" philosophy is upheld.

What You Bring

The "Must-Haves"

• Python Mastery: Deep experience with modern Python (3.10+) and its ecosystem.
• Agentic AI Power User: You are not just "familiar" with AI; you are an expert in using Cursor or Claude Code. You know how to prompt, iterate, and use agentic features to handle complex refactors.
• Pragmatic Mindset: You prioritize "working software" over "perfect abstractions" but know when clean architecture is non-negotiable.
• Communication: Strong English (B2+) and the ability to thrive in a distributed, remote-first environment.

Technical Toolkit

• Solid understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Proficiency with Git workflows.

Bonus Points (The "Plus" Skills)

• Frontend: Experience with React or Next.js.
• Polyglot: Proficiency in C# (.NET) or PHP.
• Cloud: Experience with GCP, Azure, or Terraform.
• Mobile: Familiarity with Capacitor or Flutter.

The Deal

• Contract: B2B or business-incubator.
• Compensation: between €20 and €40 per hour (gross).
• Flexibility: 100% remote work.
