Build the Future with AspenView Technology Partners
At AspenView, we are passionate about transforming the way organizations approach technology. We specialize in creating high-performing, nearshore IT teams to help North American clients innovate faster and more efficiently.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for exceptional people to join our team and help drive impactful change across industries.
About the Role
We are looking for a QA Specialist to build and run automated testing for a large U.S. credit union’s digital banking conversion. You will join the delivery team of the financial services advisory firm that directs the credit union’s system conversions. The client’s technology group wants testing to become fully automated, so this is not an execute-the-script role: you will build the tests, condition the data, validate the results, and report on them.
You will join one dedicated mission team and stay on its project through completion, taking day-to-day direction from the advisory firm’s program director for the digital conversion, with test strategy and standards guided by a partner firm’s QA strategy lead. This is a full-time, dedicated, remote nearshore position based in Colombia or elsewhere in Latin America, working U.S. business hours with Pacific Time overlap when needed. You will be employed through AspenView and work as part of the advisory firm’s team on the engagement.
What You Will Do
Test Automation & Strategy
- Design, build, and maintain automated UI, API, and integration tests for your mission team’s project, built to run on every release rather than once.
- Build out the test plan with a partner firm’s QA strategy lead, who sets strategy and script standards, and turn it into working automation.
Integration Coverage
- Cover the integrations a digital banking conversion touches: the core, online and mobile banking, and ancillary systems such as payments, card, fraud, imaging, and document storage.
Test Data, Execution & Reporting
- Automate test data conditioning so members, accounts, cards, and transactions are in the state each test needs, without hand-building data before every run.
- Own execution reporting and results validation: what ran, what failed, and what is blocked.
- Triage defects alongside developers and vendors, and feed results into release decisions.
Business Collaboration & UAT
- Work with member services, payments, and lending staff to turn how they actually work into test scenarios and scripts.
- Support business users through user acceptance testing (UAT).
What You Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- 4+ years of QA experience at a mid-to-senior level, including test automation you built rather than inherited.
- Testing experience in financial services (bank, credit union, card, payments, or fintech), with accounts, transactions, and money movement as familiar ground.
- Experience turning how business users work into test scripts, and explaining a failure to them without the jargon.
- English strong enough (B2 or above) to walk a U.S. credit union’s business and technology teams through a failed test run and what it means.
Technical Expertise
- UI and API automation suites built in Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or an equivalent, running in a CI pipeline.
- Integration testing across systems: APIs, files, and data moving between a core, a digital banking front end, and third-party services.
- SQL proficiency to query and validate data independently.
- Automating the work around the tests: test data setup, results validation, and execution and defect reporting in Jira, Azure DevOps, or an equivalent.
Certifications
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Core or digital banking conversion projects at a bank or credit union, on any side: institution, vendor, or consultancy.
- Digital banking platforms such as Alkami, Q2, Banno, or NCR Digital Banking, and how they integrate with a core.
- A credit union core such as Jack Henry Symitar, Fiserv DNA, Corelation KeyStone, or another U.S. core.
- Mobile test automation with Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso.
- Payments and card testing: ACH and NACHA files, card authorization and settlement, FedNow or RTP.
- API testing with Postman, REST Assured, or Karate; CI in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Test data management, synthetic data generation, or data masking.
- Performance testing with k6 or JMeter; test management with Zephyr, Xray, qTest, or TestRail.
- AI-assisted test generation, and the judgment to check what it produces.
