About the Role

As Team Lead QA Automation, you will define the test automation strategy across unit, integration, system, stress, and performance testing. You will work closely with Engineering and Product Management, promote shift-left, automation-first, and risk-based testing approaches, and drive AI-native test automation using tools such as Claude Code and AI agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for the QA Automation team.
- Define and implement the test automation strategy across:
*unit testing
*Integration testing
*System testing
*Stress testing
*Performance testing
- Work with Engineering and Product Management to deliver on the team's delivery and quality commitments
- Establish shift-left, automation-first, and risk-based testing approaches within the development process.
- Design scalable test frameworks, test harnesses, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive AI-native test automation and use AI agents for test generation, maintenance, and triage.
- Establish reusable AI skills and workflows for the wider QA team.
- Mentor QA Engineers and continuously raise the team's technical standards.
- Contribute expertise to the AIS DE QA community.
Required qualicifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience in test automation with strong technical credibility.
- Ability to develop and lead a senior QA Automation team both technically and personally.
- Strong experience with multi-layered test frameworks, CI/CD, load testing, and performance testing.
- Strong programming skills in at least one language such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- Demonstrated effective use of AI in a QA environment.
- Experience with AI-based agents, skills, workflows, or similar tools and approaches.
- Experience designing AI pipelines, test harnesses, and Context Engineering solutions.
- Fluent German and fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong problem-solving skills, innovation, and proactive working style.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and alignment with the healthcare purpose and responsibility for patient safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent university degree, preferably a Master's degree, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field, with very good academic performance.
- Experience with Claude Code or similar agentic AI tools.
- Knowledge of the relevant technology stack, including Qt, .NET, MariaDB, and Gematik TI
- Experience in security testing and penetration testing.

Education & Experience
Education
- Excellent university degree, preferably Master's degree, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field.
Experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in test automation.
- Strong experience with test frameworks, CI/CD, load and performance testing.
- Strong programming experience in at least one of C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- Demonstrated use of AI in QA.
- Experience with AI pipelines, test harnesses, and Context Engineering.
- Preferred: Experience with Claude Code or similar agentic AI tools.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Qt, .NET, MariaDB, Gematik TI, and security/penetration testing.
