About Ridima
Ridima is a mobile-first fintech platform offering gift card trading, crypto-to-cash conversion, bill payments, e-commerce gadget sales, and Proof of Joy (POJ), a social rewards feature. We're a small, fast-moving team preparing for launch, and quality is core to how we build trust with users handling real money.
Role Summary
We're hiring an experienced QA Tester on a focused 3-week contract to conduct a comprehensive, end-to-end audit of Ridima across both web and mobile app (iOS and Android). This is not ongoing feature testing. It's a dedicated, time-boxed engagement to systematically verify that every core flow works correctly, securely, and consistently across platforms before we scale usage. You'll be the last line of defense before real users trust us with gift card trades, crypto conversions, bill payments, and rewards, so your job is to surface every issue, however small, that stands between us and a platform users can fully rely on. You'll work closely with the Product Manager, backend engineering team, and frontend team, and deliver a clear, prioritized report of findings by the end of the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Test planning & execution
● Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases covering every core flow on web and mobile, including functional, negative, and edge-case scenarios.
● Perform end-to-end testing across core user flows: onboarding/KYC, gift card trading, crypto-to-cash conversion, bill payments, e-commerce (Store), and Proof of Joy.
● Test across iOS, Android, and web, accounting for platform-specific behavior (permissions, navigation patterns, screen sizes).
● Re-test and verify bug fixes as they're made during the engagement, to confirm resolutions hold and no new issues were introduced.
Financial & transactional integrity
● Verify transaction accuracy across wallet balances, gift card redemptions, crypto conversions, and bill payments, including edge cases like duplicate submissions, network interruptions mid-transaction, and insufficient balance scenarios.
● Test for idempotency and data consistency in payment and crypto flows, working with engineering to confirm backend behavior matches expected outcomes.
● Test KYC/BVN/NIN verification flows end-to-end, flagging any compliance-relevant issues.
Bug management & reporting
● Write clear, reproducible bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual behavior, environment details, and supporting evidence (screenshots/recordings).
● Triage and prioritize bugs by severity and business impact, in collaboration with the Product Manager and engineering team.
● Track all identified issues through to resolution status, flagging any that remain unresolved at handover.
Process, reporting & handover
● Build a structured test case library covering every core flow (gift cards, crypto-to-cash, bill payments, Store, POJ, onboarding/KYC) within the first week, for use across web and both mobile platforms.
● Collaborate closely with the backend engineering team, the frontend team, and the Product Manager to clarify expected behavior and edge cases as testing progresses.
● Maintain a live, prioritized bug log throughout the engagement. Don't wait until the end to surface critical issues.
● Deliver a final comprehensive QA report at the end of the 3 weeks: overall platform health assessment, full list of issues found (by severity), and a clear go/no-go recommendation ahead of scaling usage.
Requirements
● 3+ years of experience in QA/software testing, including mobile apps (iOS and Android) and web platforms.
● Required: prior experience working on a fintech platform, testing transactional or financial flows (payments, wallets, crypto, or similar).
● Strong understanding of manual testing methodology: test case design, functional testing, regression testing, exploratory testing.
● Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira, Trello, TestRail, Notion).
● Comfortable writing clear, structured bug reports that engineers can act on without back-and-forth.
● Able to work at pace and independently manage a comprehensive test plan within a fixed 3-week timeline.
● Basic understanding of API testing (e.g. Postman) is a strong plus.
● Strong attention to detail and a genuine curiosity for breaking things in useful ways.
Nice to Have
● Prior experience testing crypto, wallet, or payment gateway integrations specifically.
● Familiarity with Nigerian fintech compliance basics (CBN guidelines, KYC/BVN/NIN frameworks).
● Exposure to test automation tools (e.g. Appium, Detox) or prior audit-style/time-boxed QA engagements.
What Success Looks Like at the End of the 3 Weeks
● Every core flow on web, iOS, and Android has been comprehensively tested, with documented test cases covering functional, negative, and edge-case scenarios.
● A complete, prioritized bug log has been handed off to the team, with clear reproduction steps for each issue.
● A final QA report gives the team confidence in exactly what's production-ready and what isn't, with a clear go/no-go recommendation.
● Any critical or high-severity issues have been flagged and escalated well before the end of the engagement, not saved for the final report.
