Heymondo is a rapidly growing travel insurance company known for its dynamic and collaborative work environment. We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our QA team and help us with our mission: making life easier for travelers.
We're seeking someone detail-oriented, with good analytical skills and a solid understanding of quality assurance practices. You’ll work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA profiles to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Ready to build quality with solid testing and continuous automation?
Mission
Drive the expansion of test automation as our core testing strategy, ensuring high product quality with fast, reliable feedback. Manual testing plays a residual role, reserved for exploratory validation and cases that aren't yet automated.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
• Analyse acceptance criteria, design and maintain test cases in Gherkin.
• Execute manual and automated tests (Web/API) using Playwright, log results and report defects.
• Coordinate delivery validation with development and product teams.
• Design and progressively implement automated tests, starting with Web/API and evolving toward mobile.
• Identify coverage gaps and contribute to evolving our testing frameworks, strategies, and tools.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with the technical team.
Requirements
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• ISTQB Foundations certification or equivalent (a plus, not required).
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role, including manual validation of complex functionalities.
• Experience designing and executing functional test cases.
• Practical knowledge of Gherkin and acceptance criteria-based testing.
• Experience developing automated tests using Playwright (or similar tools such as Cypress) with TypeScript, covering UI and API testing, and familiarity with the broader JS/TS testing ecosystem.
• Practical experience with Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews).
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
Key Skills
• Interest or initial experience in mobile app test automation (e.g., Appium). We're looking to grow in this area, so willingness to learn and contribute is valued.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical profiles.
• Ability to organise tasks independently and validate deliveries with sound judgment.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive about identifying quality risks and proposing process improvements.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams and multidisciplinary squads.
Schedule
• Full-time.
• Flexible hours (7.5 hours a day).
• 100% Remote. We have a very nice office right next to Torre Agbar in Barcelona in case you want to work from there too.
Our Value Proposition
• Flexible and good work environment.
• Possibility to evolve your role with the maturity of our company and the growth of your skills and achieved goals.
• Flexible remuneration: Cobee.
