The QA/Test Engineer will design and execute various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, accessibility, and security-focused tests. Additionally, the role involves building test automation frameworks, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and managing the formal stakeholder acceptance process for backlog items. This position is hybrid-based in Quantico, VA with eligibility for remote work and requires up to 10% travel. It is a salaried, FLSA-exempt role that demands independent judgment and discretion on matters critical to program success.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level I baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA A+ CE, Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or SSCP) prior to cybersecurity duties.
  • Active Secret Clearance (favorably adjudicated T3/T3R) at the time of hire.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Top Secret eligibility if mission requires.
  • Within investigation scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation / Continuous Vetting programs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance for web or enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in developing test plans and cases from requirements or user stories and executing functional, regression, and integration testing with documented evidence.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as ServiceNow Automated Test Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 / WCAG 2.x accessibility testing standards.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing and working within Agile development frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Desired Skills

  • ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation or Agile), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, or CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • Experience testing ServiceNow applications, Service Portal, Virtual Agent, and integrations, as well as Power Platform / SharePoint solutions.
  • Familiarity with accessibility tools such as ANDI, axe, JAWS/NVDA and understanding of DoD Section 508 requirements.
  • Experience in compliance-driven Federal IT environments including Department of War or DoD.
  • Knowledge of secure coding standards, NIST SP 800-218 SSDF, and security testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Power BI report testing and data validation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, cases, and acceptance criteria for backlog items on ITSM platforms, Power Platform/SharePoint solutions, web content, and service portals based on user stories and government requirements.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, negative, and end-to-end testing of applications, workflows (including Customer-Confirmed Ticket Closure processes), service catalog items, notifications, and integrations, documenting results with evidence.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using platform-specific and general-purpose tools to accelerate regression testing across releases and upgrades.
  • Perform Section 508 / WCAG accessibility testing and responsive design validation for web content, portal components, and applications; support VPAT preparation.
  • Coordinate security-focused testing with the Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), including validation of secure coding, input validation, role-based access, and data handling; track and manage defect closure.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing by preparing UAT scripts and test data, facilitating government testers, capturing feedback, and assembling acceptance evidence for stakeholder review.
  • Manage defect tracking, triage, and reporting processes; analyze defect trends and root causes; recommend process and quality improvements to development teams.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, Change and Release Management activities, and regression testing during platform upgrades.
  • Maintain test documentation and quality metrics for reporting in the Monthly Customer Support Activity Report.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range from $72,160 to $111,700 per year.
  • Hybrid work environment with remote work eligibility and flexible scheduling.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and certifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Supportive and inclusive company culture committed to diversity and veteran employment.
