The State of Minnesota is seeking a senior-level QA Automation Engineer/Developer to provide technical leadership for enterprise test automation initiatives supporting the Minnesota Eligibility Technology System (METS) and SMRT DevOps teams.
This role will lead automation architecture, framework modernization, CI/CD integration, automated testing strategy, and automation best practices for mission-critical healthcare eligibility systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for improving, scaling, and maintaining enterprise automation frameworks while mentoring team members and supporting ongoing modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modernize, and maintain enterprise automation frameworks.
- Establish automation architecture standards, coding standards, and automation best practices.
- Lead framework modernization efforts to improve scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain:
- UI Automation Suites
- API Automation Suites
- Regression Test Suites
- System Integration Test Automation
- Database Validation Automation
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and QA teams.
- Develop reusable automation components and testing utilities.
- Perform SQL validation and database testing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical design sessions.
- Conduct automation code reviews and mentor QA automation engineers.
- Evaluate and recommend new automation technologies and tools.
- Support continuous testing and software quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with:
- Java
- Selenium
- Test Automation Framework Development
- 5+ years designing reusable automation frameworks using object-oriented design principles.
- 3+ years integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Jenkins or similar automation orchestration tools.
- 5+ years of SQL development and database validation experience.
- Experience automating enterprise-scale applications.

- Experience as:

- Experience modernizing legacy automation frameworks.
