Quality Assurance Engineer – Full-Time
The Veterinary Information Network (VIN) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our collaborative, Agile-driven team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about delivering high-quality experiences for our members and ensuring reliable, robust software releases.
Position Overview
As a QA Engineer at VIN, you will work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality releases. You will create and execute comprehensive test plans, perform functional and regression testing, and refine QA processes for both new and existing applications. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and documenting issues, validating fixes and features, and contributing to release documentation and help guides. This position is hybrid and expected to work onsite half of the week. We are not offering relocation assistance for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and execute detailed test plans and test cases.
- Coordinate testing activities, estimate and prioritize tasks, and ensure thorough coverage across the SDLC.
- Perform functional and regression testing on new and existing applications.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues, document reproduction steps, and assist users in understanding tools and features.
- Contribute to technical documentation, help guides, and release notes.
- Develop and improve testing processes to support continuous quality improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated by quality. They have multi-year experience in application QA, a strong understanding of QA methodologies and tools, and hands-on expertise in both white-box and black-box testing. Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes, including user stories and product backlogs, are essential.
This person is an excellent communicator, thrives in collaborative environments, and is adaptable and open-minded when approaching problems. They are enthusiastic about identifying and documenting issues early to help the team deliver high-quality releases efficiently.
Qualifications
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Salary and Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The actual offer will reflect the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities. VIN currently offers medical coverage with an HRA, dental, vision, life insurance, medical and dependent-care FSAs, and a 401(k) plan with dollar-for-dollar company matching up to 6%. Vacation and sick leave begin accruing on the first day of employment.
