Position Summary We are recruiting for a Quality Control Operator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy and print readiness across packaging artwork files. The ideal candidate will have around 5 years of experience in artwork, prepress, print production or quality control, with a strong understanding of the packaging artwork and print production process. This is a role for an experienced professional who can work independently, apply strong technical judgement and identify potential issues before files reach production. You will work closely with Artwork Operators and Project Managers to ensure files meet client, brand and printer requirements and are delivered right first time. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Job Responsibilities · Perform detailed quality control checks on digital packaging artwork files, ensuring accuracy across content, colour, technical setup and printability. · Review artwork against QA guidelines, client specifications and approved briefs, identifying and resolving potential issues before production. · Proofread artwork content and verify that all relevant information is accurate and consistent. · Ensure files comply with the client's corporate and brand guidelines. · Review images, graphics and colour to ensure they accurately reflect the approved brief and brand requirements. · Assess artwork against printer specifications and technical requirements, including copy size, line thickness, barcode sizing and other print-related parameters. · Apply strong knowledge of printing processes and packaging prepress to identify potential production risks and recommend appropriate solutions. · Work closely with Artwork Operators and Project Managers to investigate and resolve technical or quality issues. · Provide technical guidance and support to Artwork Operators when required, acting as a point of reference for complex artwork and print-related queries. · Ensure artwork is correctly prepared and technically suitable for the intended printing process and production environment. · Be proficient in all relevant software and systems, including Adobe Acrobat and Automation Engine, and ensure these are used effectively and correctly. · Maintain a strong understanding of the client's specific quality requirements, artwork guidelines and processes, while developing a broader knowledge of other client accounts. · Demonstrate strong brand awareness and actively contribute to achieving consistency and quality across the full product range. · Support the implementation of the Hero Process and other relevant quality and workflow procedures. · Take ownership of assigned workload and ensure all deliverables meet agreed deadlines and quality standards. · Work collaboratively within the wider team, contributing to effective communication and a "right first time" approach. · Proactively identify recurring issues, process improvements and opportunities to improve quality and efficiency. · Requirements · Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in packaging artwork, prepress, print production, artwork quality control or a related field. · Strong knowledge of packaging artwork and print production processes. · Solid understanding of prepress requirements and the technical specifications required to prepare artwork for print. · Excellent attention to detail and a strong quality mindset. · Ability to independently identify, investigate and resolve technical and artwork-related issues. · Strong understanding of colour, typography, imagery, barcodes and other key packaging artwork elements. · Excellent IT skills and confidence working with artwork and workflow management systems. · Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and experience with Automation Engine or similar workflow systems. · Ability to interpret technical specifications, client guidelines and printer requirements. · Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. · Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with Artwork Operators and Project Managers. · A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the confidence to challenge potential quality or production issues when necessary. · Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team. · Flexibility and adaptability when working across different clients, brands and processes.
