Job Summary
Processes scanned images and analyzes electronic medical record for deficiencies; assists providers with the chart completion process
Essential Functions
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the MPI, EMR and all HIM software applications
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the chart completion requirements
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of provider documentation procedures, i.e., e-sign, documentation, orders, and dictation
- Demonstrates the ability to organize and prep medical records
- Verify scanned documents for correct form name and patient assignment
- Performs analysis of medical records; verifies that all chart completion requirements have been met or assigns deficiencies
- Demonstrates the ability to enter, update and/or remove deficiencies in the EMR Deficiency Detective Module
- Reviews Final Analysis after health care providers have worked on them and verifies completion
- Assists physicians with the chart completion process
- Closely monitors the physician suspension process to assure accuracy of both suspension and reinstatement of privileges; promptly notifies the appropriate Department Members when suspension has been lifted
- Refers dictation problems to the Transcription Section for resolution
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively use computer reports applicable to the position
- Understands and applies requirements for release of information
- Organizes and completes work assignments within scheduled work period
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Required or
- GED Required
- 1-3 years Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Clerk in a hospital HIM Department preferred Required
- Basic computer skills required (Low proficiency)
