As a Quality Engineer on our technology team, you will analyze software requirements and technical specifications to build, execute, and automate comprehensive test plans. In this role, you will leverage enterprise-approved AI productivity tools and modern automation frameworks to streamline testing workflows, drive defect resolution, and elevate software quality. Working in an agile environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, defect-free healthcare software solutions. You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous quality improvement Evaluate emerging trends and testing technologies to inform solution design and strategic quality engineering innovation Analyze and break down software requirements and technical specifications to create, execute, and maintain test cases in Jira and test management platforms Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium) to ensure efficient and accurate testing Test applications thoroughly, drive prompt resolution of defects, and establish/maintain test cases and test data Conduct regular reviews and inspections of automated test scripts to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and agile methodologies Collaborate with business users, system analysts, designers, and programmers to review project documents and support production deployments Run basic Linux commands for file management, command-line utilities, and system validation You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of functional testing experience 5+ years of experience with SQL querying 3+ years of experience in automation testing, including test script development using programming languages such as Java or Python 3+ years of experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools 2+ years of experience using automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar frameworks 2+ years of experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Quality Center/ALM, XRay, or Zephyr) 2+ years of experience performing REST API testing using Postman 1+ years of experience using AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms) to improve testing efficiency and quality outcomes 1+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with electronic payment workflows and healthcare payment processing Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environment 1+ years of experience performing end-to-end validation of ACH payment files and ensuring compliance with NACHA formatting standards and business rules Highly organized and self-driven with strong multitasking capabilities and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
