It may be ‘try before you buy’ with a company, but for today’s highly sought-after job seeker who knows fully well how valuable their skills are, our jobs are ‘try before you commit.’ Client Company Info: Established FinTech; less than 200 employees, less than 10 years old Job Location: Remote Time Commitment: Less than 20 hours per week, but gradually growing Type of Position: Project-to-hire Pay: Hourly pay while working for Ambitionary; upon full-time hiring, this company will have a combination of Salary, Bonus, Benefits, Equity Role details This position performs quantitative research, analysis, model development, and model validation for a number of our products and scenarios comparative to different markets and geographies. As an early-stage company, we don’t have the luxury of specialized Quants, so this role has a bit of everything. The expectation is to learn what it is that you don’t know, then learn it, and apply it to your model scenarios. You will do your own research, while working alongside our financial industry expertise, and apply the knowledge you attain to the models. Sample example: what happens to the prices of Solana, Cardano, or Hedera when Bitcoin spikes on Saturdays at 0400 Eastern time? Required qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline (CompSci, Math, Statistics, Physics etc) 1 Year of working experience is all that we require, but will consider resumes of all backgrounds Must be proficient in Python and familiar with distributed computing frameworks (e.g. Spark) MATLAB, R, C++, SQL or some combination thereof to overcome Python’s limitations Be able to explain Python’s limitations and why we should develop a model in another technology Javascript would be cool to have just because This position is available only to candidates currently eligible to work in the United States.
