About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Risk Analytics and Reporting, the Quantitative Risk Analyst will independently conduct quantitative analytics and reporting initiatives that contribute to the organization’s risk management objectives. The ideal candidate will work with large datasets to prepare and analyze information, develop regular and ad-hoc reports, monitor portfolio performance, and provide analytical insights to support business and risk management decisions.

This role provides an opportunity to develop technical and analytical expertise while working closely with experienced members of the Risk Analytics team. The successful candidate will be expected to apply quantitative and programming skills to solve business problems, communicate findings clearly, and contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical processes and reporting.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and maintain production reports on key metrics for senior management, the Board, lending partners, and regulators.
  • Support regular and ad-hoc analyses to monitor portfolio performance and the effectiveness of the adjudication strategy.
  • Extract, prepare, validate, and analyze large datasets to identify trends and generate meaningful insights and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify data quality issues and assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies and improving the reporting and analytical process efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate findings and insights to Executives and senior management in a concise and easy-to-understand way.


Essential Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, operations research, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of relevant work experience in quantitative analysis, data analysis, reporting, programming, or a related field. Relevant academic projects, internships, or co-op experience will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, R, or other software used for data analytics.
  • Experience using Excel to analyze data and present results.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline considered an asset.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or risk analytics considered an asset.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, mortgage lending, insurance, or a related industry considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of credit risk or mortgage risk considered an asset.

The salary range for this position ranges from $65,000 to $85,000. Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, along with internal equity.
