Role Description The Quantity Surveyor will work part time in a remote capacity, supporting industrial projects with a focus on cost and contract management. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing bills of quantities (BOQ), monitoring project costs, and assisting in cost planning from initial estimates through to final accounts. The role involves tracking budget performance, producing cost reports, and identifying variances or risks that may affect financial outcomes. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure cost data is accurate and timely. The role also includes supporting tender evaluations, contract administration, and providing recommendations to optimize project value.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Control and Cost Management to monitor budgets, manage expenditures, and support financial decision-making.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Cost Planning and Cost Reporting to develop cost plans, forecast financial performance, and prepare clear, accurate reports.
  • Candidates should possess practical experience with BOQ preparation and review to support tendering, contracting, and project valuation.
  • Candidates should possess analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel or cost management software, and attention to detail in documentation.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication skills, the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; experience in industrial or construction projects is an advantage.
