Job Title: Radio Engineer
Location:Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Days: Monday - Saturday
Working Time :6am est - 3pm est.
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Radio Engineer to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and technical quality of our radio broadcast systems. The Radio Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, troubleshooting, and optimization of all RF, transmission, and studio equipment to deliver clear, reliable on-air content.
Key Responsibilities
Transmission & RF Systems: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot transmitters, antennas, feeders, STL links, and other RF equipment to ensure uninterrupted broadcast.
Studio Engineering: Support studio setup, mixing consoles, microphones, audio processors, automation systems, and playback equipment.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, testing, and servicing of all broadcast and engineering equipment.
Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical faults in signal quality, audio, and transmission within required timelines.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all operations meet NBC, NCC, and other regulatory standards for frequency, power output, and broadcast quality.
System Upgrades: Recommend and implement upgrades to equipment, software, and infrastructure to improve performance and reliability.
Documentation: Maintain logs for equipment performance, maintenance schedules, faults, and repairs. Prepare technical reports for management.
Support: Provide technical support during live broadcasts, outside broadcasts, and special events.
Safety: Adhere to health, safety, and RF exposure guidelines in all engineering activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
Experience: 3+ years experience in radio broadcast engineering or RF systems.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of FM transmission, RF principles, audio processing, studio equipment, and broadcast automation software.
Tools: Proficient with spectrum analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
Problem Solving: Ability to work under pressure and resolve technical issues quickly during live broadcast.
Soft Skills: Good communication, documentation skills, and ability to work in a team.
Certification: COREN registration or relevant broadcast engineering certification is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
Experience with IP audio, AoIP systems, and digital broadcast technologies
Knowledge of generator sets, UPS, and power management for broadcast sites
Familiarity with remote monitoring systems
