Job Title: R&D Senior Member of Technical Staff Location: Hyderabad Employment Type: Full-time, regular, hybrid work arrangement Job Family: R&D Technology & Execution – Test Career Path: Individual Contributor About the Role We are looking for a talented Automation software Test Engineer with the skills and passion to successfully test complex technical solutions to join our AVEVA ERM team. This opportunity also calls for strong problem-solving skills, ability to research solutions for technical challenges and continuous learning. Principal accountabilities Work with the Product Owner, Architects, Software developers and testers, and the Scrum Team to understand, define, and test solution requirements in both On Premise and Cloud environments Participate in Scrum meetings with other team members, including sprint planning and estimating; backlog refinement; daily Scrum meetings; sprint retrospectives, and sprint reviews Design and implement custom automated Integration testing framework that span across multiple interconnected applications. Develop and execute comprehensive API test suites to validate backend services and inter-application communication Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and product owners to understand system behaviour and define testable acceptance criteria Integrate automation test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing practices Perform root cause analysis on test failures and work with development teams to drive resolution Continuously evaluate and improve test coverage, reliability, and execution performance Contribute to defining QA best practices, standards, and processes within the team Knowledge, skills and experience required 7-10 Yrs deep understanding of RESTful API design principles - HTTP methods, status codes, headers, authentication (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys) Deep expertise in API testing, including tools such as Postman, Playwright, or similar, with strong understanding of HTTP protocols, request/response validation, and service contract testing Strong understanding of integration testing principles - how to isolate system boundaries, manage dependencies, and test cross-application data flows Proficiency in at least one automation-capable programming language, ideally C#, to build custom frameworks, not just use off-the-shelf tools Familiarity with CI/CD integration - embedding automated integration test suites into pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Experience with version control using Git Exposure to containerisation (Docker) for test environment setup R&D at AVEVA Our global team of 2000+ developers work on an incredibly diverse portfolio of over 75 industrial automation and engineering products, which cover everything from data management to 3D design.
