About The Role
As a React Native Developer, you will help create and improve mobile applications used by thousands of people. You will work primarily with React Native, Expo, JavaScript and TypeScript, while also contributing to React and Next.js web applications. You will collaborate with engineers and back-end developers to deliver useful features, connect applications to REST APIs, and provide polished experiences across platforms.
This is a hybrid position, with one day per week in the office and flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week. You will be involved in development, testing, code reviews, planning and release activities, with opportunities to share ideas and contribute to technical decisions. You will also support the preparation and release of applications to both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Qualifications
You should have at least two years of commercial experience developing React Native applications, including applications released on both the App Store and Google Play. Strong practical experience with Expo, modern React and JavaScript, including React Hooks, is essential. You should also have working knowledge of TypeScript and experience with state management tools such as Redux.
Additional requirements include good HTML and CSS skills, an understanding of responsive web development, experience consuming REST APIs, and proficiency with Git and contemporary source control workflows. You should be comfortable investigating technical issues and maintaining automated tests. A collaborative approach, openness to feedback, and enthusiasm for learning and developing your skills are important.
Experience with Next.js or other React-based web frameworks, Tailwind CSS, Expo Application Services (EAS Build), or over-the-air updates would be advantageous. Familiarity with maps, location services, camera integrations, push notifications, Jest, Playwright or Sentry is also useful. Exposure to PHP or Laravel, Agile teams, Jira, or AI tools for development and testing would be welcomed.

You will integrate front-end applications with REST APIs and work closely with back-end developers and other engineers to deliver maintainable, effective solutions. You will help prepare and release mobile applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play, investigate bugs, troubleshoot issues and implement fixes.
Your work will also include writing and maintaining automated tests, participating in code reviews, sprint planning and effort estimation, and helping maintain or upgrade frameworks, libraries and dependencies. You will work as part of an Agile development team and contribute to a constructive, quality-focused engineering culture.
