Location: Ohio (candidate will have the flexibility to work out of their home office but must reside within 50-miles of Columbus, OH) Schedule: Full-time, Non-Exempt Travel: Candidate can expect to travel locally and throughout Ohio about 50% of the time. What You’ll Do Complete ORC’s structured right of way training program, learning the profession directly from experienced agents Assist with acquiring right-of-way rights for distribution and electrical transmission line projects in accordance with project guidelines and regulations Support the Project Manager and project team members Prepare real estate documents with growing independence Conduct property research for ownership and boundary information Communicate with property owners and their representatives regarding right of way acquisition Perform general administrative tasks that keep projects moving We’re Looking for Someone Who Is eager to launch a career in the right of way profession — no industry experience required Works efficiently under tight deadlines and keeps multiple priorities moving Is organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Communicates clearly and professionally — in writing, on the phone, and face to face Brings a strong service mindset to every landowner and client interaction Picks up new systems and software quickly Minimum Requirements No prior right of way experience required — we’ll train you Active Ohio Notary OR the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire Proficient with MS Office Suite — specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook An iOS or Android smartphone to access ORC’s systems Valid driver’s license Where You Fit This is an entry-level training role — our front door into the right of way profession — and no prior industry experience is required. The pay range for this posting is $27.00 - $33.00/hr., and your offer will reflect your related experience, education, and what you demonstrate throughout the interview process. As you complete ORC’s training program and build experience in the field, you’ll be positioned to grow into a Utilities Agent role. Relocation and per diem are not provided. To avoid conflicts of interest, employees are prohibited from performing any services for clients or perceived clients during nonworking time that are normally performed by ORC, including the sale of real estate. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, it requires a combination of office-based and field work. Employees will spend prolonged periods sitting and performing computer-based tasks, including typing, data entry, and virtual communication, while also regularly traveling to landowner properties, project sites, and government facilities, some of which may be in rural or remote locations with limited accessibility. Driving is an essential function of the role and may involve extended periods and long-distance travel. Fieldwork may require walking over uneven terrain, standing, or navigating outdoor environments, with routine exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role also involves frequent interaction with a diverse range of individuals, including landowners, government officials, and members of the public, requiring the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism across differing personalities and potentially challenging situations. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate travel, site access, and stakeholder availability, along with adherence to safety protocols in both office and field settings.
