Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Real Estate Attorney.

Overview: MLA Interim is seeking a highly motivated, business-minded attorney to support our client's global real estate portfolio and strategic business initiatives. This role will serve as a key legal advisor on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and other occupancy-related matters. The attorney will also provide support for construction and facilities agreements related to the company's manufacturing, engineering, testing, distribution, and office locations. The ideal candidate will combine strong transactional experience with sound business judgment, a collaborative approach, and the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Company: World-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems

Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Real Estate Attorney at a global manufacturer

Location: REMOTE – East Coast time zone


Responsibilities Include:
Real Estate Transactions (Approximately 85%)

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial real estate agreements, including: Purchase and sale agreements; Commercial and industrial leases; Ground leases; Build-to-suit agreements; Easements, licenses, and access agreements; Brokerage agreements; and Property management agreements
  • Provide legal support for domestic and international real estate acquisitions, dispositions, lease transactions, and facility-related projects
  • Conduct and manage legal due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, land use, environmental, and permitting matters
  • Advise business stakeholders regarding transaction structure, risk allocation, and real estate strategy
  • Partner with internal real estate and facilities teams on portfolio management initiatives and occupancy matters
  • Coordinate with and manage outside counsel on specialized real estate matters
  • Develop and maintain transaction templates, negotiation playbooks, and best practices
Construction and Facilities Support (Approximately 15%)
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related agreements associated with facility improvements and capital projects, including: Master Service Agreements (MSAs); Construction contracts; Design and engineering agreements; and Professional services agreements
  • Support facility expansion and renovation projects as needed

Qualifications Include:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in US; a member of a state bar in good standing
  • 5+ years of experience focused on commercial real estate transactions with significant experience negotiating and drafting: Purchase and sale agreements; Commercial leases; Acquisition and disposition agreements; Related real estate transaction documents; construction contracts and facility-related service agreements
  • Experience representing corporate occupiers, industrial companies, manufacturers, or large corporate real estate users
  • Experience handling title, survey, zoning, and due diligence matters
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to independently manage transactions from inception through closing
  • Working knowledge of ConsensusDocs would be helpful, but not required
