About the company
Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as a real estate attorney focused on housing regulation in New York City, acting for property-side clients. The work combines agency advocacy, transactional guidance and project-related legal support, along with the chance to develop your own client relationships.
What you'll do
- Appear in state housing agency proceedings, including filings by owners, complaints from occupants and follow-on appeals.
- Guide property clients through legal review ahead of purchases and construction or redevelopment plans.
- Support clients on complex site consolidation, occupant relocation and structure clearance matters.
- Apply New York housing statutes and related regulations to client questions.
- Grow your own client base with encouragement and credit from the firm.
What we're looking for
- 4 to 5+ years of experience in New York City residential housing regulation, with flexibility for a strong candidate at 4 years.
- Admission to the New York State bar.
- Thorough command of New York rent laws and related housing legislation.
- A track record of acting for property owners rather than occupants.
- Hands-on experience with administrative agency filings and appeals.
- Experience advising on pre-acquisition review or development-related matters.
- Strong academic credentials from both law school and undergraduate study.
- A stable employment history with meaningful tenure at prior employers.
- Based in New York City and comfortable with a hybrid schedule.
Bonus points
- Prior work in the real estate industry, such as property management or brokerage.
- An established, portable client base for consideration at a more senior level.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 250,000 to 270,000 per year
Location and work model
- New York City, NY, United States
- Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
- Full-time
