Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $23.57-$31.88 per hour*
The Receipts Specialist / Senior Receipts Specialist plays an important role in Treasury Operations by ensuring donor gifts and financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. This position supports critical banking and treasury functions, maintains data integrity across donor and financial systems, and serves as a key resource for gift processing activities. Depending on experience and demonstrated expertise, the incumbent may assume a greater level of ownership, problem-solving, and process improvement responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, verify, and record donor gifts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support donor gift processing and related financial transaction workflows.
- Research and resolve donor account discrepancies, adjustment requests, and transaction exceptions.
- Support banking and treasury operations, including reconciliations, payment processing, and cash management activities.
- Process deposits, wire transfers, stock gifts, and other financial transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate donor, contact, project, and financial records across multiple systems.
- Serve as a resource for donor systems and gift processing workflows; provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness within receipts and treasury processes.
- Participate in system testing, process enhancements, automation initiatives, and implementation of new procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely, accurate, and high-quality donor and financial information.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Specialist: 1-3 years of experience in accounting, treasury, finance operations, donor services, or a related field.
- Senior Specialist: 3+ years of experience in accounting, treasury, finance operations, donor services, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in transaction processing, reconciliations, or donor systems.
- Experience working with financial systems, accounting platforms, donor management systems, or databases preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and financial software.
- Strong communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
