About The Company

SIGNAL IDUNA Gruppe is one of Germany’s largest insurance and financial services providers, with headquarters in Hamburg and Dortmund. The company is transforming the insurance industry through a modern, agile, and customer-focused approach. Its working culture is shaped by openness, trust, mutual respect, and the courage to explore new ideas. SIGNAL IDUNA values diversity and recognizes that different perspectives and experiences contribute to innovation. Employees are encouraged to contribute their ideas, take ownership, and help shape the company’s ongoing development.

About The Role

SIGNAL IDUNA Gruppe is seeking a Recruiter (all genders) for a fixed-term position through November 30, 2028. Based in Dortmund, you will help fill vacancies across the group efficiently and thoughtfully. Working closely with leadership advisors, hiring managers, and specialist teams, you will provide expert guidance throughout the hiring process. You will help define recruitment needs, recommend suitable search strategies, and ensure a positive, consistent experience for candidates at every stage. This role combines hands-on recruiting with stakeholder consultation, talent sourcing, and opportunities to improve recruitment practices.

Qualifications

You have successfully completed a university degree or hold an equivalent qualification, along with professional experience in recruiting. You bring particular experience in direct candidate outreach and active sourcing, and are confident building and maintaining professional candidate networks. Familiarity with applicant management and the coordination of employee referral programs is required. Experience supporting the recruitment of apprentices or dual-study students is an advantage, including an understanding of the specific needs of these candidate groups.

You communicate clearly, advise stakeholders with confidence, and bring a strong service and quality orientation to your work. You are comfortable collaborating with different teams and balancing recruitment priorities. Occasional business travel is part of the role, so a willingness to travel is expected. You have fluent German skills and good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment processes from initial requirements briefings through candidate selection and progress reporting.
  • Advise hiring managers and specialist departments on role profiles, job advertisements, labor market conditions, and appropriate search methods.
  • Proactively identify and approach potential candidates through active sourcing and direct outreach, while developing and maintaining talent networks.
  • Select and coordinate recruitment agencies in consultation with the hiring department.
  • Support interview processes and, where appropriate, participate in candidate interviews.
  • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience throughout the application journey through timely, professional, and considerate communication.
  • Contribute to projects that improve recruitment processes and channels and encourage innovation across the recruiting function.
  • Work closely with colleagues in personnel marketing and employer branding to support a consistent employer presence.

Benefits

You will take on a varied and challenging position with a high level of individual responsibility, where you can contribute to meaningful change. SIGNAL IDUNA offers an open and friendly working environment, modern workspaces designed to support creative collaboration, and technology that enables effective teamwork across locations. Employees can work remotely an average of two days per week, with Microsoft Teams and well-equipped meeting rooms supporting flexible collaboration. You will also have the opportunity to put the company’s values into practice and contribute ideas to the continuing development of its recruitment work.

Equal Opportunity

SIGNAL IDUNA Gruppe welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and is committed to fair and equal treatment throughout the recruitment process. Applications are considered without discrimination based on an applicant’s individual gender identity or other personal characteristics. To apply, please submit your complete application, including certificates and relevant documents, through the company’s applicant management system and include your salary expectations. Applications sent by email cannot be considered. Unsolicited candidate profiles from recruitment agencies are not accepted; fees are not payable for profiles submitted without an existing contractual agreement.
