Job Brief

Remotee, through our sister company Recruit Sync, is seeking an experienced Recruitment Resourcer to support a boutique Australian recruitment agency specialising in early childhood and education sector recruitment — one of the most complex and compliance-heavy sectors in the country, with strict documentation requirements and a persistent shortage of qualified candidates, particularly in regional areas.

This is one of the most critical hires in the client's current growth phase: more candidates sourced means more roles filled. You'll own the candidate engagement and care function — sourcing, contacting, pre-qualifying and booking candidates for interview, managing inbound applicants, and re-engaging the existing candidate database so the client is always front of mind when candidates are ready to move.

Because candidates in this sector typically can't take phone calls during the day (they're not permitted to have phones on site), text messaging and email are the primary outreach channels during business hours, with phone calls working best early morning, evening or on weekends. You'll need to understand and work within these realities, with some flexibility in your hours to match when candidates are most reachable.

You'll work alongside a small, experienced Australian-based team — including a Business Development lead, a recruitment consultant and a database administrator — reporting directly to the agency's Founder/CEO. This role comes with a genuine growth pathway: starting with outreach, inbound management and database care, then progressively moving into candidate interviewing and, eventually, candidate presentation directly to hiring managers.

Mandatory Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in a recruitment, resourcing or candidate engagement role; agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience recruiting in the education sector, particularly early childhood, highly regarded (AU, UK or US education recruitment experience also valued).
  • Familiarity with JobAdder or a comparable ATS/CRM an advantage; full proficiency expected within the first 30 days.
  • Experience with candidate engagement/alert tools (e.g. Roi-AI or similar) a bonus.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with a disciplined approach to follow-up, record-keeping and managing large volumes of candidate contacts without losing quality.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a varied daily workload across multiple roles and channels.
  • Genuine interest in the education and early childhood sector is an advantage.
  • Comfortable with some flexibility in working hours, including occasional early morning, evening or weekend outreach when it's most effective for reaching candidates.

Responsibilities

Candidate Outreach & Engagement

  • Contact candidates sourced from SEEK Talent Search, the ATS/CRM database and inbound applications via text, email and phone as appropriate to the individual and time of day.
  • Follow up persistently and professionally until a response is received — one contact attempt is not enough in this market.
  • Engage passive candidates on behalf of the client, sharing relevant role information and market insights, and gauging interest in current or future opportunities.
  • Where a candidate isn't right for a current role, assess suitability for casual/temp opportunities and redirect accordingly.
  • Respond promptly to candidate engagement alerts, website registrations and mailer click-throughs as warm leads requiring immediate follow-up.

Inbound Applicant Management

  • Screen all inbound applications from job ads, social campaigns and other posting channels.
  • Assess each applicant's suitability for the advertised role and for other current vacancies.
  • Contact all applicants with a response, even those not being progressed — candidate experience is central to the client's brand.
  • Redirect unsuitable applicants to casual/temp pathways or other appropriate options where relevant.

Candidate Pre-Qualification & Interview Booking

  • Pre-qualify candidates against active role briefs, assessing fit on experience, qualifications, compliance documentation, availability, location and work preferences.
  • Book suitably qualified candidates into interviews with the Founder/CEO or a team member.
  • Progressively attend and then conduct candidate interviews as familiarity with the sector and processes grows.
  • Record full qualification notes in the ATS/CRM after every pre-qualification conversation.

Candidate Care & Database Management

  • Maintain regular contact with existing database candidates to keep relationships warm, update availability and ensure the client stays top of mind when they're ready to move — including everyone previously placed or interviewed, not only active candidates.
  • Ensure all candidate records are accurately coded with skills, qualifications, compliance document status and availability.
  • Work closely with the database administrator to identify and correct any records that are incorrectly coded or incomplete.
  • Deploy and follow up on regular candidate mailers, contacting anyone who engages with the content.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Provide the Founder/CEO with a clear end-of-day summary of activity, candidate conversations, notable profiles and anything flagged for follow-up.
  • Coordinate with the Business Development and recruitment team on active roles to ensure outreach priorities are aligned with current job orders.
  • Flag any system improvements, candidate feedback or market observations that may be useful to the team.

Performance Expectations

  • Minimum 40 outbound candidate contacts (text, email and calls) per day across all channels.
  • Minimum 25% response rate on outbound candidate outreach.
  • Minimum 5 qualified candidates booked for interview per week.
  • 100% of inbound applicants contacted within 1 business day, including those not progressed.
  • Minimum 20 database re-engagement contacts per week, in addition to inbound and active-role outreach.
  • All candidate interactions and records updated accurately in the ATS/CRM within 24 hours.

What's on Offer?

  • Full week of onboarding training before you start, plus ongoing monthly group training sessions.
  • Company laptop (connected to Australian servers) and full IT support provided.
  • Competitive salary with guaranteed annual salary reviews.
  • Annual top performer awards, including opportunities to travel to Australia.
  • Annual leave, sick leave and paid public holidays
  • Full-time, long-term remote role with a well-regarded Australian recruitment agency known for genuine candidate care.
  • Genuine long-term career progression as the business continues to scale.
