Finance

The role

Job Summary

At SoftwareOne, Finance is more than stewardship and reporting. It is a strategic partner to the business, enabling better decisions, stronger performance, and sustainable value creation.

The Regional Head of Finance is the senior finance leader and independent financial conscience of NORAM. As a trusted partner to the Regional President and leadership team, the role ensures financial discipline, transparency and governance, while translating financial insight into action to improve profitability, cash generation and sustainable growth. As an extension of Group Finance, the Regional Head of Finance aligns regional execution with global standards and priorities and represents NORAM on the Global Finance Leadership Team.

The role requires domestic and international travel across North America, with periodic travel to Switzerland and other offices, approximately 6-8 trips per year and up to 40% travel.

SoftwareOne is an AI-forward company. We expect leaders to embrace AI practically and lead by example, using it to improve productivity, decision-making and business outcomes.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure budgets and forecasts are realistic, appropriately ambitious, supported by the business, and converted into accountable execution plans.

Accounting, governance, and compliance

  • Oversee monthly and year-end closing, IFRS reporting, statutory accounts, tax compliance, external audits, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a strong regional control environment and ensure compliance with Group policies, internal controls, the Delegation of Authority, and local statutory and tax requirements, if not delegates to the countries.
  • Act as the escalation point for material finance matters and ensure decisions are properly documented and governed.

Cash flow and working capital

  • Drive disciplined management of collections of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash conversion.
  • Ensure transparent and reliable cash-flow reporting and promote profitable growth that is sustainably self-financing.

Process excellence and integration

  • Coordinate effectively with Group Finance, global Finance Directors, payroll, and the Finance Shared Services Center, with clear service expectations and accountability.
  • Lead the finance integration of acquisitions, new entities, operating models, and systems. Support M&A initiatives as required.
  • Use AI and automation pragmatically to improve workflows, insight, decision-making, and productivity.

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Lead and develop the NORAM finance organization, with clear accountability, effective structures, and efficient resource deployment.
  • Coach and empower finance leaders, strengthen succession and talent pipelines, and build an active regional finance community with consistent ways of working.
