The ASPAC Legal Department of LVMH’s Beauty Division is looking to hire a Legal Counsel (7- PQE) to be based in Singapore. If you are a diligent, capable and articulate common-law and private practice-trained lawyer with strong legal fundamentals, intellectual curiosity and exceptional drafting skills, looking for a role where law, data, business and luxury gracefully intertwine, this opportunity is for you – your lawyering prowess, diplomacy and keen eye for detail will directly contribute to the smooth functioning of a fast-paced and dynamic Legal Department in the ASPAC region.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with our iconic houses in the Beauty Division: Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain, Givenchy, Benefit Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, Fresh, Acqua di Parma, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Kendo Brands and Kenzo Parfums.

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to the LVMH Beauty portfolio in both its local market and travel retail businesses and across all operational verticals, including real estate/ leasing, retail, digital, supply chain, marketing and visual merchandising, for the following brands: Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain, Givenchy, Benefit Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, Fresh, Acqua di Parma, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Kendo Brands, Fenty and Kenzo Parfums.
  • Draft, review and advise on a broad range of commercial, corporate, real estate and regulatory matters relevant to the Beauty Division, including agency, retail, e-commerce, marketing, influencer and talent engagement, events, licensing, supply chain, warehousing, logistics, procurement, services, confidentiality, and other business partnership arrangements.
  • Spearhead and support data privacy, data governance and legal compliance projects and workstreams, including advising on personal data protection laws, marketing consent frameworks, customer data use, cross-border transfers, vendor compliance and the implementation of internal privacy policies and processes.
  • Track and interpret developments in ASPAC’s data protection laws and regulatory frameworks, reviewing new legislation to assess its practical implications for the Beauty Division’s operations; provide compliance support in advising Maison stakeholders on data privacy compliance matters arising from the division’s business activities, identifying and recommending best practices where relevant.
  • Support the conduct of regular privacy and consumer law risk assessments, coordinate data audits, and help maintain accurate and compliant privacy documentation and records.
  • Assist in managing privacy-related user complaints and data breach incidents, supporting timely investigation, escalation, and resolution in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with regional and global legal colleagues to develop, roll out and embed legal best practices and legal risk management initiatives across the Beauty Division.
  • Prepare and update contract templates to maintain an up-to-date repository of contracts for key stakeholders, and provide regular training to stakeholders across the business, including training on the use of contract templates and key legal issues relevant to their roles within the business.
  • Support legal, privacy and special projects as tasked by the Beauty Division – Regional Legal Director (General Counsel) from time to time.
  • Holder of a valid legal practitioner qualification in a developed Common Law jurisdiction, preferably Singapore.
  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm – our preference is to hire candidates currently working in private practice.
  • Demonstrated substantial hands-on experience in drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial, licensing, eCommerce and marketing terms & conditions, as well as preparing articulated legal advice & memoranda. (Strong drafting and communication skills are fundamental requirements for the role and will be assessed as part of the recruitment process through a written test.)
  • Experience dealing with privacy, data protection and cybersecurity matters arising in the context of general corporate and commercial transactions. Whilst we are not seeking a specialist data privacy counsel - candidates should however be comfortable in reviewing regulations, identifying and addressing mandatory requirements, spotting issues, and undertaking data/ risk mapping exercises as part of the assigned broader commercial legal work.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing legal projects on selected marketing, advertising and eCommerce projects, including working cross-functionally and driving matters through implementation.
  • Ability to work independently – once the successful candidate is assimilated into the role, he/she will not be under daily supervision for BAU (‘business as usual’) matters.
  • Highly agile with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and continuously recalibrate priorities in response to evolving business, legal and organizational needs.
  • Excellent command of the English language is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia/Malay would be an advantage, as the role involves liaising with stakeholders across our Southeast Asia and Greater China operations.
  • Warm, yet polished, firm and well-spoken, with outstanding interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically across diverse cultures and seniority levels.
