General Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow an assigned regional portfolio of current and prospective major donors, establishing individualized strategies, financial goals, and clear next actions for each relationship.
  • Proactively prospect for and identify new major-gift opportunities through referrals, existing networks, donor research, events, churches, foundations, and other relationship channels; consistently build a pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Qualify prospective donors by assessing interest, alignment, engagement, giving history, and capacity, and prioritize time and activity toward relationships with the greatest potential for significant partnership.
  • Initiate contact and secure face-to-face or virtual meetings with donors and prospects; maintain a disciplined cadence of calls, meetings, follow-up, and personalized outreach designed to move relationships forward.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each donor’s motivations, interests, ministry passions, and financial priorities, and connect those interests to specific e3 and I Am Second opportunities for meaningful investment.
  • Confidently present funding opportunities and make direct financial asks for significant gifts, multi-year commitments, and strategic investments, in coordination with the VP of Development and organizational priorities.
  • Strategically involve the CEO, VP of Development, and other senior leaders when their participation can strengthen a relationship, advance a solicitation, or help close a significant gift; prepare leaders with appropriate donor background, strategy, and desired outcomes before meetings.
  • Own follow-through after leadership and donor meetings, including documenting commitments, coordinating next steps, providing requested information, and maintaining momentum toward a decision or gift.
  • Develop and execute personalized cultivation and solicitation plans that may include ministry updates, leadership meetings, vision gatherings, field experiences, special events, proposals, and other engagement opportunities.
  • Provide thoughtful stewardship after gifts are received, including gratitude, impact reporting, prayer and personal follow-up, and continued engagement designed to strengthen retention, deepen partnership, and identify future giving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and current donor and prospect records in Salesforce or the designated CRM, documenting interactions, relationship stage, giving activity, next actions, opportunities, and relevant information; use the CRM actively to manage pipeline and accountability.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Development, CEO, Development team, Communications, and ministry leaders to align donor strategy, develop compelling cases for support, communicate ministry impact, and advance organizational fundraising priorities.

Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Interact with others as an ambassador of faith.
  • Perform duties according to the Word of God and Biblical standards as drawn from the Holy Scripture.
  • Serve as a messenger or teacher of faith according to e3 Doctrinal statements and beliefs.
  • Assist others to cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.

General Requirements:

  • Proven ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with high-capacity individuals, foundations, churches, executives, business leaders, and other financial partners.
  • Strong sales and business-development orientation, with the initiative and persistence to prospect, make cold or warm introductions, secure meetings, navigate objections, and consistently advance relationships toward defined outcomes.
  • Demonstrated comfort and effectiveness making direct financial asks and discussing significant giving opportunities with confidence, professionalism, and appropriate relational discernment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong listening, discovery, presentation, persuasion, and follow-up skills; able to tailor communication to different personalities and audiences.
  • Ability to communicate compelling ministry vision and impact and translate organizational priorities into clear, donor-centered opportunities for investment.
  • Strategic major-gift portfolio management skills, including prospect qualification, pipeline development, cultivation planning, solicitation strategy, closing, stewardship, portfolio prioritization, and movement toward measurable next steps.
  • Strong judgment and relational discernment, including the ability to determine when and how to engage the CEO, VP of Development, or other senior leaders to advance a donor relationship or significant gift opportunity.
  • Goal-oriented and accountable, with the ability to manage activity and results against agreed-upon portfolio, meeting, solicitation, pipeline, and revenue objectives while maintaining a relational and ministry-centered approach.
  • High level of organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage regional travel, a complex donor portfolio, multiple active opportunities, and competing priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce and a commitment to timely, accurate documentation, pipeline management, forecasting, and next-action tracking.
  • Working knowledge of charitable giving methods, including cash, stock, donor-advised funds, asset-based gifts, and estate or planned giving, with the judgment to engage internal or external expertise when appropriate.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively with the CEO, VP of Development, Development team, Communications, Field Ministry, and I Am Second teams to advance donor relationships and organizational priorities.

Spiritual Requirements:

  • Be completely surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
  • Bear witness of Christian character in daily life by biblical definition.
  • Be a member in good standing of a local church.
  • Agree with the e3 Partners Doctrinal Statement.
  • Is called to represent Christ and the beliefs of e3 to the larger community.
