Reporting into Malaysia Distribution Sales & Marketing Director - Malaysia & Singapore, we are searching for a team member to join us as Regional Sales Manager - Southern.

As the Regional Sales Manager - Southern, you will drive Knauf’s sales growth across the project and retail segments by building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels throughout the Southern Region, including specifiers, developers, main contractors, subcontractors and distributors. Your responsibilities include developing pipeline opportunities, delivering product presentations, coordinating specifications and follow-ups, engaging with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, proposing value-driven solutions, and managing all related documentation and internal systems.
What you will be doing
As a Regional Sales Manager - Southern, your key daily duties will be:
Market Development and Sales Leadership: Develop territory and account plans, as well as pricing strategies, to achieve volume and price targets. Manage monthly forecasts, pipeline health, and performance against targets.
Stakeholder Management: Build and strengthen relationships with developers, consultants, architects, main contractors, subcontractors, dealers, and distributors. Map key decision-makers and influence product specifications.
Pipeline and Opportunity Conversion: Identify and qualify project opportunities at an early stage, pursue tenders and negotiations, secure specifications, and convert opportunities into orders to achieve revenue and margin targets.
Product and System Presentations: Deliver tailored product and system presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions that clearly communicate value, compliance, and performance benefits.
Project Coordination and Follow-through: Coordinate specifications, technical submissions, samples, mock-ups, and approvals with internal teams, ensuring timely engagement at every stage of the project.
Solutioning and Quantity Guidance: Recommend optimal systems and value-engineered alternatives, and provide basic take-offs, quantity guidance, and BOQ input to support proposals.
Project Tracking and Engagement: Track project progress from design through to installation and handover, engaging at critical milestones to secure and protect business opportunities.
Market and Competitor Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor products and pricing, and project movements. Maintain accurate CRM updates and share insights to support strategy refinement.
Commercial Negotiation and Governance: Prepare proposals and quotations, negotiate terms within approved pricing frameworks, and ensure margin discipline and compliance with company policies.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure product availability, service excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate CRM records, provide weekly pipeline updates and monthly performance reports against targets, and develop account plans, action trackers, and sales forecasts.
Travel and Site Engagement: Conduct regular stakeholder meetings and site visits across the Southern Region, including Johor and Melaka.
What we would love for you to have
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction or building materials industry, with a strong understanding of construction processes and project flow.
Skills: Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving, planning, and leadership skills.
Attributes: Proactive, disciplined, independent, highly motivated, and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership.
Other Requirements: Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Preferably stationed in Johor.
