The Team -

👉Our Commercial Schemes team works closely with brokers, underwriting specialists and colleagues across the business to deliver specialist commercial insurance solutions. As one of the key growth areas within Commercial Lines, the team plays an important role in supporting profitable growth while delivering excellent service to brokers and customers.

What you can expect in this role

• You'll underwrite Commercial Schemes business across new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments.
• You'll build positive relationships with broker partners and provide a responsive, professional service.
• You'll support profitable growth by identifying trading opportunities and sharing valuable market insight.
• You'll make underwriting recommendations and referrals where additional technical input is required.
• You'll support portfolio reviews and contribute observations on trends, broker activity and risk quality.
• You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across Underwriting, Pricing, Claims and Operations.
• You'll contribute to continuous improvement and help support the growth of the Schemes function.

What you might bring

• Commercial underwriting experience, or strong insurance experience with an interest in developing underwriting expertise.
• A good understanding of commercial insurance products and broker trading environments.
• The ability to make balanced decisions using risk information, underwriting guidance and commercial judgement.
• Great attention to detail and the ability to document decisions clearly.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with brokers and internal stakeholders.
• An organised and proactive approach to managing a varied workload.
• A willingness to learn, develop technical capability and build specialist Schemes knowledge.
• Relevant insurance qualifications, or a willingness to work towards them, would be beneficial.
