The role: The Regional Vice President Wealth provides leadership and direction for the implementation and on-going support of Meridian’s Wealth Management strategy. This role would collaborate with practice management to develop key practice management standards and advisor best practices assist in the development of annual sales plans and budgets for the Wealth Management line of the business.
This role is accountable for leading, directing, coaching developing and recruiting a team Senior Financial Planners ,Financial Planners and/or Private Investment Advisors and Associates whose competencies include financial planning and investment services, to achieve established sales targets and operational goals. The Regional Vice President Of Wealth also provides consultative support to Branch Managers and other licensed positions.
This role will also support an integrated approach to wealth within Meridian by researching and recommending strategies to expand products and services offered by Wealth Management.
Key Responsibilities
Management of Senior Financial Planners ,Financial Planners, and Private Investment Advisors by enforcing practice management standards, conducting performance reviews, in the development of annual sales plans, coaching for success of sales and services targets, and providing ongoing training and development
- Provides advice and support to Senior Financial Planners and Financial Planners to implement, develop and access complex and comprehensive financial solutions that may require a higher level of expertise
- Provide subject matter expertise to the Wealth distribution channel
- Responsible for the recruitment, promotion, exit and succession of wealth advisors in an assigned team.
- Provide new ideas to Senior Financial Planners and Financial Planners to help them develop business, grow portfolios according to established segment targets, and deliver excellent Wealth advice resulting in an exceptional Member experience
- Work collaboratively with the internal partners and develop relationships with key external partners in order to maximize the effectiveness of distribution network and develop an integrated, seamless experience for our Member
- Collaborates effectively with the District Vice Presidents in the region to support community events, business development activities, and other business partnerships
- Leads major change initiatives in support of business strategies and ensures the successful implementation.
- Manages risk and minimize losses through reviews of audit results, ongoing monitoring and ensuring compliance requirements are met in accordance with Policies and Procedures and regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
- Enhances Meridian’s profile in the community by participating in worthwhile business and community activities and seeking out and creating opportunities to promote Meridian’s products and services.
- Develops a highly engaged, diverse and capable team to execute wealth strategies and build strong relationships with Members
- Develops and shares ongoing industry wide best practices, sales, marketing and business development ideas and strategies with peers, Senior Wealth Advisors and Wealth management leadership
- Stays current on regulations and industry changes and develops strong COI’s within the industry
- Provides input to the development of annual sales targets, performance criteria, reward and recognition programs, compensation programs and integrated key performance indicators
- Follows up on outstanding members items for wealth advisors in assigned team and assists in finding acceptable resolutions.
- Conducts regular wealth advisor file reviews to ensure proper execution of policies and procedures, and adherence to compliance requirements and standards.
- Educates staff in all areas of sales, compliance and ensures all staff are up-to-date on changes
- Promotes and champions Wealth Management throughout the delivery channel, and Meridian
- Accountable for the overall wealth results for the region
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree or diploma or equivalent experience
- 7 to 10 years of related experience in financial services sales management
- Financial Planning designation an asset
- IIROC or MFDA licensed.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Wealth Management products and services
- Planning and analytical skills
- Organization and time management skills
- Presentation skills
- Insurance license is an asset
- Regular travel throughout the province

Salary Range: $123,400.00 to $185,200.00 CAD
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location: Toronto Corporate Office with the ability to travel to various retail branches within Central and Eastern Ontario. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
