Generally, Mind You is a mental health service that focuses on the provision of professional mental health preventive programs offered via video conference, phone call or chat. Mind You was established with the goal of creating happier, healthier and more productive workforces. The eMental Health platform was conceptualised in January 2020 because of the growing need for easier access to preventative mental health care. The development was then fast-tracked and launched due to the demand created by the global pandemic. Hereby, virtual mental healthcare will fulfil the unmet need for clients traditionally underserved by other mental health practitioners. There are some scientific sources stating that online mental healthcare has been shown to be effective for clients who may have difficulty reaching person-to-person appointments with Psychologists during normal business hours, while decreasing the number of missed appointments for in-person therapy. About this role As a Guidance Counselor, your main responsibility is to provide guidance and support to students in academic, personal, and career development through counseling sessions on the Mind You platform. You will work with students to identify and address their individual needs and concerns, provide information and resources, and help them develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in school and beyond. You are also primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of the students through following appropriate risk and escalation protocols as the need arises. Duties and Responsibilities Conducting Counseling Sessions - Promptly conducts assigned counseling sessions - Ensures that sessions are conducted in a private area with stable internet connection - Follows guidelines and protocols set by the company in conducting sessions Session Documentation - Tagging session status on the same day of the session - Produces In Session Forms within a week of the session; if escalated to pharmacological intervention, then within the same day - Uploading of No Show Form on the same day as no show session Active Communication - Informs immediate supervisor of any issues related to sessions; such as but not limited to, scheduling conflicts, difficult or problematic interactions with users, or technical issues in delivering sessions - Able to communicate to immediate supervisor whether or not tasks assigned to them are within their competency Self-Care - Good recognition of burnout - Has a life out of work - Able to use leaves appropriately - Performs other tasks that are related, supplementary or complementary to their function. Qualifications Education and Experience - MA in Guidance Counseling - Professional Regulatory Commission License in Guidance Counseling - Any counseling or therapeutic work or internship experience - Open to newly licensed professionals Competencies - Understanding of psychological concepts - Good grasp of different therapeutic techniques - A guiding therapeutic theory, system, or framework - Good and clear communication skills Desired Attitudes and Habits - Independent - Conscientious - Empathetic - Patient - Communicative - Responsible
