Join the board as a Registered Nurse Board Member and bring practical nursing insight to organizational decisions. You’ll help guide priorities in patient care, senior care, quality improvement, and healthcare compliance, drawing on clinical and operational perspectives. This is a paid board position. Must be located in Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Contribute nursing expertise to board discussions, policies, and strategic decisions affecting care delivery and operations.
- Review quality, safety, utilization, and compliance information, including medical records and reports, to support informed oversight.
- Your impact: By bringing frontline nursing perspectives into quality improvement decisions, you help care teams deliver safer, more coordinated care for patients and residents.
- Advise on staffing, budgeting, management, and operational priorities while respecting board governance and confidentiality requirements.
Experience
- Registered nursing background with patient care experience; relevant settings may include critical or acute care, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, intensive care unit (ICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), operating room (OR), trauma centers, nursing homes, assisted living, hospice, home care, or home health agencies.
- Experience in nursing leadership, nurse management, supervising, healthcare staff management, healthcare management, operations management, administration, case management, utilization management, or minimum data set (MDS) processes is valuable.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical terminology, medical records, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements, and healthcare compliance.
- Technical proficiency with productivity software; budgeting and quality improvement leadership experience are preferred.

Compensation: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour
