Position Title: Regulatory and Government Affairs - Director (Remote - DC) Entity: KBRA Holdings LLC Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Remote (DC) Summary: KBRA’s Regulatory and Government Affairs team is seeking a highly motivated Director to support the firm’s engagement with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of financial regulation, capital markets, and public policy while contributing to KBRA’s regulatory and government affairs initiatives. This role will serve as KBRA’s primary representative based in Washington, DC, providing a unique opportunity to help expand the firm’s presence and engagement within the DC policy and regulatory community. The Director will support relationship-building and ongoing engagement with regulators, policymakers, trade associations, and other industry stakeholders on issues relevant to the credit rating and broader financial services industries. The Director will play an active role in monitoring regulatory and legislative developments, conducting policy research and analysis, preparing materials for senior leadership, and supporting engagement with regulators and industry groups. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in financial regulation, public policy, or government affairs who are looking to take on increased responsibility and external engagement in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. About the Job: Regulatory and Legislative Monitoring Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting credit rating agencies and the broader financial services sector. Track emerging regulatory trends and assess potential implications for KBRA and the credit markets. Policy Research and Analysis Conduct research and draft analyses on key policy areas such as capital markets regulation, financial stability initiatives, artificial intelligence and emerging technology developments, and credit ratings oversight. Prepare internal memoranda, issue summaries, briefing materials, and talking points for senior leadership. Stakeholder Engagement Support KBRA’s engagement with regulators, trade associations, policymakers, and industry participants. Serve as KBRA’s primary Washington, DC-based representative for day-to-day regulatory and policy engagement activities. Help strengthen and expand KBRA’s presence within the DC regulatory and policy community through ongoing relationship development and participation in industry events and discussions. Participate in industry conferences, policy roundtables, consultations, and external meetings. Help coordinate responses to regulatory consultations and industry initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Communications, and Analytical teams to support consistent and informed policy messaging. Provide regulatory and policy insights to internal stakeholders across the organization. Special Projects Contribute to strategic initiatives related to regulatory developments, public policy priorities, and industry trends. Assist with projects involving regulatory coordination and external engagement efforts. You will be successful in this role if you possess: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Law, International Relations, Finance, or a related field. Approximately 6–8 years of experience in financial regulation, government affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, or a related field. Strong understanding of financial regulatory and legislative processes. Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues clearly and accurately. Ability to manage multiple projects independently while collaborating effectively across teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced professional environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with legislative tracking tools, regulatory databases, or financial market research platforms is a plus. Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity enhancement is a plus. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
