Remote Data Engineer, Analytics

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and standardization of analytics data pipelines and models.
You will partner with cross-functional teams to modernize infrastructure, establish data governance, and build shared data models for scalable analytics and AI development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement reusable data models, fact tables, conformed dimensions, and metrics layers to ensure consistent analytics data.
• Standardize data engineering practices, including pipeline development, CI/CD, and data modeling standards.
• Collaborate on modernizing orchestration, improving pipeline efficiency, and establishing secure dev/test environments.
• Develop data governance strategies, define data contracts, and ensure data quality before production.
• Work with Data Science and Product teams to create reliable data pipelines for dashboards and reports.
• Enhance pipeline observability, failure recovery, and operational efficiency through best practices.
• Integrate AI-native tools for conversational data exploration and pipeline automation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in data/analytics engineering and SQL optimization at scale.
• Strong Python development skills and experience building production data pipelines.
• Deep expertise in dimensional data modeling, schema design, and scalable architecture.
• Proficiency with orchestration tools (preferably Airflow) and data modeling tools like dbt.
• Ability to drive cross-team alignment, establish standards, and influence stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architectures.
• Knowledge of data governance and observability tools such as Atlan or Monte Carlo.
• Experience building or contributing to metrics/semantic layers.
• Leadership in platform modernization and orchestration efforts.
