Job Title: Fully Remote Electrical Designer for Aviation Infrastructure
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Designer, where you will have the opportunity to develop and design electrical systems for airport terminals, concourses, support facilities, and related aviation infrastructure. Your expertise in creating low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems will be crucial to our projects. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs for airport terminals, concourses, and related aviation infrastructure.
- Design low-voltage and medium-voltage building power distribution systems, including normal, emergency, and standby power systems.
- Create and maintain detailed Revit MEP models for electrical systems throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Utilize Revit to develop coordinated electrical layouts, equipment models, conduit routing, power distribution systems, and lighting designs.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and perform clash detection with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Produce electrical construction documents, including power plans, lighting plans, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment layouts, raceway and conduit routing plans, electrical details, and specifications.
- Perform lighting calculations and develop interior, exterior, site, roadway, and aviation support lighting systems.
- Support electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short circuit studies, and equipment sizing.
- Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in the development of critical power systems, generators, UPS systems, and other mission-critical airport infrastructure.
- Participate in design reviews, client meetings, field investigations, and construction support activities.
- Review RFIs, shop drawings, and contractor submittals during construction.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of electrical design experience in MEP consulting, aviation, transportation, or commercial building industry.
- Proficiency with Revit MEP and BIM-based electrical design workflows.
- Experience developing and coordinating electrical system models in Revit for large commercial, institutional, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience producing electrical construction documents directly from Revit models.
- Working knowledge of building power distribution systems, lighting and lighting controls, emergency and standby power systems, NEC requirements, and energy codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil drawings.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience on airport, aviation, transit, or other large public infrastructure projects.
- 5+ years of electrical design experience utilizing Revit MEP.
- Experience with Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, AGi32, Visual Lighting, or similar design software.
- Familiarity with airfield support facilities, airport terminal electrical systems, and critical infrastructure environments.
Work Environment
The role involves a collaborative work environment where you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams. You will utilize cutting-edge technologies such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM 360. The position may require participation in client meetings, design reviews, and field investigations. A professional, team-oriented attire is expected. This position is fully remote, and is a 6 month contract with potential for extension.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
