Job Summary:
We are seeking a Remote Healthcare Verification Specialist to support our healthcare operations by coordinating patient appointments, providing patient and caregiver support, and assisting with insurance-related processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with insurance eligibility verification, billing, prior authorizations, and DME (Durable Medical Equipment), as well as a background in Urgent Care, a medical office, DME, or a similar healthcare environment. In this role, you will communicate with patients, caregivers, insurance providers, and healthcare teams through phone and email, coordinate appointments, verify insurance benefits and coverage, and assist with authorizations and DME-related processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. This position requires the ability to work independently, follow established processes, quickly learn new systems, and work U.S. Eastern Time (New York) business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle customer inquiries and provide accurate information via inbound/outbound phone calls and email communications.
- Conduct outbound calls to patients and caregivers to schedule, confirm, and follow up on medical appointments.
- Manage inbound calls related to appointment coordination and patient support.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate medical appointments based on patient and caregiver needs.
- Answer questions regarding appointment details, availability, timing, and related information.
- Provide updates regarding test result availability and expected turnaround times, when applicable.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, appointments, and communications.
- Perform administrative and customer service support tasks as needed.
- Deliver professional and high-quality customer service to ensure patient and caregiver satisfaction.
- Verify insurance eligibility, billing, and prior authorizations.
- Handle DME and DME insurance processes.
- Support operations in Urgent Care, medical office, DME, or similar healthcare settings.
- Review insurance benefits, coverage, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, vendors, and teammates.
- Experience with insurance eligibility verification, insurance billing, and prior authorizations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and DME insurance processes.
- Experience working in Urgent Care, a medical office, DME, or a similar healthcare environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of insurance benefits, coverage, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance is preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance portals, EMR/EHR systems, and billing or authorization platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
