Remote IT Intern – Systems & Networking (New Zealand) | HT Broadband

About the role

HT Broadband is a new internet company that is hiring. Backed by an award-winning IT group with leaders from MIT and Oxford backgrounds, we support enterprise clients across industries including airlines and banking. We are looking for a Remote IT Intern based in New Zealand to get hands-on exposure to systems administration, networking, AI-enabled workflows and real broadband and telecommunications technology.

Paid, remote internship with a stipend/allowance. Availability: 2–3 days a week, working remotely from anywhere in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day systems administration and network tasks.
• Assist with IT infrastructure, user support, troubleshooting and documentation.
• Work with the team on AI implementation and automation projects.
• Take part in live coding or technical problem-solving sessions using AI tools.
• Contribute to real internal and customer-facing projects.

Requirements

• Based in New Zealand with the right to work in NZ.
• New Zealand citizenship preferred; it will be seen as an advantage.
• Candidates with full New Zealand work rights (citizens or permanent residents) are a plus.
• Interest or background in IT, systems administration, networking, cloud or software.
• Coding background preferred.
• Comfortable using AI tools for live coding, debugging or workflow automation.
• A real-life project, portfolio project or practical technical work to show us.
• Strong learning attitude, clear communication and reliability; able to work independently online.
