Remote | Junior Transactional Attorney — $70–$90/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for early-career Transactional Attorneys with foundational experience in contract drafting, negotiation, redlining, and commercial legal review to contribute to an advanced legal AI training and contract-evaluation project.

Selected professionals will review contract workflows, perform simulated negotiations and redlining exercises, assess AI-generated legal responses, and apply structured evaluation criteria to transactional legal tasks. The opportunity is particularly suited to junior attorneys seeking to apply their developing legal expertise within technology-focused contract work and interdisciplinary research environments.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Drafting & Review

• Review and analyse commercial and transactional agreements
• Assess contractual language for clarity, consistency, and legal accuracy
• Identify potential ambiguities, drafting weaknesses, and contractual risks
• Apply foundational transactional judgement to realistic legal scenarios
• Support structured review of technology-focused agreements

Contract Negotiation & Redlining

• Perform simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises
• Review proposed revisions and alternative drafting positions
• Assess the legal and commercial implications of contract changes
• Refine language to improve clarity and precision
• Apply practical negotiation principles across iterative contract workflows

AI Contract Evaluation

• Review AI-generated responses to transactional legal scenarios
• Assess drafting quality, legal reasoning, and issue identification
• Identify inaccurate interpretations or unsupported conclusions
• Evaluate whether suggested revisions appropriately address contractual concerns
• Provide clear feedback supporting improvements in model performance

Evaluation Frameworks & Grading

• Apply objective evaluation frameworks to contract-related tasks
• Use defined grading criteria to assess AI-generated legal work
• Evaluate outputs consistently across repeated assignments
• Document why responses are accurate, incomplete, or incorrect
• Support refinement of evaluation standards and review methodologies

Legal Collaboration & Quality

• Collaborate with product, research, and interdisciplinary teams
• Translate legal knowledge into clear and actionable feedback
• Help refine datasets, guidelines, and contract-review workflows
• Communicate legal concepts clearly across technical and non-legal audiences
• Maintain strong attention to detail throughout evaluation work

Ideal Profile

• 1–3 years of transactional legal experience
• Experience may come from an in-house legal team, law firm, or comparable environment
• Foundational experience with commercial or technology transactions
• Exposure to agreements such as MSAs and NDAs
• Familiarity with contract drafting, negotiation, and redlining
• Knowledge of LPAs, ISDAs, or related transactional documents is beneficial
• Strong analytical and issue-spotting capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to translate legal knowledge into structured evaluation feedback
• Demonstrated interest in the intersection of law and technology
• Comfortable working with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
• Corporate law firm experience or internship experience is advantageous
• Exposure to M&A or fund-formation work is beneficial
• Prior experience with AI, legal technology, or related training initiatives is advantageous but not required

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $70–$90/hour
• Work will involve contract review, negotiation simulations, redlining, AI-output evaluation, and application of structured legal-evaluation criteria
• Assignments may involve MSAs, NDAs, LPAs, ISDAs, and related transactional documentation
• Foundational transactional-law experience is central to this engagement
• The role is designed for early-career attorneys with approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience
• Project scope, workload, contract types, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
• Prior AI experience is not required
• Work must be completed without using confidential or privileged information belonging to any employer, client, company, law firm, institution, or other third party
