We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Attorneys from top-tier U.S. law firms with strong expertise in corporate law, private equity, transactional matters, legal research, and related litigation to contribute to an advanced legal AI training and evaluation project.

Selected professionals will analyse complex M&A and corporate-law scenarios, conduct in-depth legal research, review transaction-focused datasets, and provide expert commentary on legal reasoning, transaction structures, and deal documentation. The work requires sophisticated transactional judgement, meticulous quality standards, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

M&A & Corporate Law Analysis

  • Analyse complex mergers and acquisitions scenarios for legal accuracy and practical relevance
  • Evaluate corporate-law issues arising across sophisticated transactions
  • Apply professional judgement to transaction structures, deal terms, and corporate advisory matters
  • Identify material legal issues, structural risks, and analytical weaknesses
  • Contribute expert annotations grounded in real-world M&A practice

Private Equity & Transactional Review

  • Review scenarios involving private equity transactions and related corporate matters
  • Assess transaction structures and deal documentation for legal coherence
  • Identify relevant contractual, governance, and commercial considerations
  • Evaluate complex transaction materials against professional legal standards
  • Apply experience from high-value transactional environments to simulated legal tasks

Legal Research & Litigation Analysis

  • Conduct detailed legal research across M&A, private equity, corporate law, and related litigation topics
  • Identify relevant authorities, legal principles, and procedural considerations
  • Analyse litigation issues arising from corporate or transactional matters
  • Evaluate the strength and completeness of legal reasoning
  • Document findings clearly and precisely for expert-level review

Dataset Review & Quality Assurance

  • Review, comment on, and refine legal datasets used for model evaluation
  • Identify inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and areas lacking real-world relevance
  • Ensure legal materials reflect professional standards and realistic transactional practice
  • Participate in iterative quality-assurance processes
  • Maintain a meticulous standard across annotation and review tasks

Evaluation Rubrics & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support development of evaluation rubrics and legal-review best practices
  • Define criteria for strong legal reasoning and transaction analysis where requested
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to clarify legal nuances
  • Provide written feedback on transaction structures, legal reasoning, and deal documentation
  • Participate in remote project discussions and iterative review cycles

Ideal Profile

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Active bar admission in the United States
  • Experience practising as an M&A attorney at an Am Law 100 or other leading U.S. law firm
  • Extensive experience with mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and corporate advisory matters
  • Strong background reviewing and drafting sophisticated transaction documents
  • Litigation exposure, particularly in corporate or transactional contexts, is highly valuable
  • Strong legal research and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent written communication and ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality legal work
  • Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and distributed project workflows
  • Experience with structured review rubrics, legal annotation, or AI-related legal projects is advantageous but not required
  • No prior AI-training experience is required

  • Compensation: $140–$400/hour

  • Experience from leading U.S. law firms is central to this engagement
  • Strong transactional judgement, legal research, and written analytical skills are particularly important
  • Assignments may involve corporate advisory matters, private equity, related litigation, and sophisticated deal structures
  • Project scope, workload, legal subject matter, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, law firm, institution, or other third party
