Remote Principal Engineer – Data Plane

We seek a Principal Software Engineer to design and develop the Agentic Data Plane (ADP), a critical control layer enabling AI agents to securely access, reason over, and act on enterprise data in real-time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Tracking industry research to inform engineering proposals and product development
• Prototyping and delivering new ADP capabilities
• Defining architectural patterns ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
• Collaborating with customers to validate solutions in real deployment scenarios
• Representing ADP externally through research, publications, and conferences
• Improving system observability and operational reliability

Qualifications and skills:

• 10+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems engineering
• Experience with agentic AI infrastructure, orchestration, or context management
• Proficiency in systems programming (Go preferred) and familiarity with streaming/data infrastructure
• Understanding of access control, policy enforcement, and auditability at scale
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate asynchronously

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of AI safety and responsible AI research
• Experience with protocol buffers, security, identity, or data governance systems
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure and running scalable data systems
