Remote Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of mission-critical systems across multiple platforms.
In this high-ownership role, you will set architecture, guide technical decisions, and ensure system stability, scalability, and rapid delivery.
You should be proficient across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and AI workflows, with a systems-thinking approach and long-term maintainability focus.
Responsibilities include owning system design, maintaining production stability, making architectural decisions, establishing observability and guardrails, and mentoring the team through code reviews and documentation.
The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in software engineering, expertise with AWS, TypeScript/Node.js, Next.js, PostgreSQL, event-driven systems, and infrastructure-as-code.
Strong debugging skills, experience with distributed systems, and AI tools proficiency are required.
Nice-to-haves include knowledge of Go/Python, LLM systems, retail or supply chain experience, and high-scale infrastructure background.
Remote work is possible, with occasional travel. Salary starts at $175,000+, negotiable based on experience.
